Krinkle is probably the only villain unaffected by Skeleton King I have some form of sympathy for. He could have easily used his mechanical genius for good. Like Iron Man cranked up to 11. If I am guessing, the machine backfired, turning everyone from thought waves back to matter after Krinkle disappeared, so I think he went from matter to thought waves, disappearing literally into his own head...
