  • That's some impressive tonguing over there.

this guy ate some pussy once, the girl is still orgasming as we speak...

  • @Misterslidedropper What girlfriend?

  • I honestly would love to get the music for this. I would like to try to learn to play it.

  • music in the 80's was just better than today's. lol

  • muito fera, quero tocar assim algum dia

  • Great playing!

  • I had my head cocked to the left the whole time....

  • OMFG!

  • My left ear really enjoyed this.

  • My right ear is lonely...

  • @reideschneider haha thanks, i thought my right earbud is broken..

  • QUE BARBARITAT!

  • thats very nice !

  • O M G Well done Way to slide. Thank you I still have my conn 88H I might take it out and get my lip in shape Thank you for the post. From Earl

  • Did he ever record??

  • bravo !

  • suave....que bravo

  • If only my slide was that smooth

  • BRAVO

  • Astonishing. I have never seen this before tho I remember the series on TV at the time. Makes it look so damned easy it's almost a crime. Also a reminder of how good the Whitburn Band were even in the early 1980's.

  • Brilliant! A fine trombonist indeed. Loved every bit of it. The slide vibrato was tasteful and your tone sounded absolutely gorgeous. Bravo! Encore!

  • uau!!!!! isso e que tocar um trobone com perfeiçao!!

  • This is one of the best trombone solos I have ever heard in my life. Does anybody know where I can find the sheet music to this

  • those that dislike this must have made a mistake... he must be one of the best trombonist I've ever heard

  • no sound in right headphone?

  • Holy crap that was awesome!

  • Very Beautiful. And very sexy tombone.

  • Here we go, lets flex those eyebrow muscles! 4:09.

  • and, Czardas??? what is it? maybe Csardas or Csárdás, without a Z.... this song is not Csardas!!please read before you post videos

  • this is a hungarian song!!! name is " a csitari hegyek alatt" its just a part of the song, and this performance isnt brilliant, i have much better versions, gonna upload them soon

  • @longhigy

This performance is great. Wtf are you talking about.

Besides this is the gypsy czardas as arranged for violin by Vittorio Monto

  • Great playing Martin - controlled and tasteful without resorting to comedy gimmicks. Impressive stuff. My only nostalgic comment is - what a pity this isn't on TV any more? people who say we aren't dumbing down are in LaLa land... Britain's Got talent - X-factor - complete nonsense....

  • Crikey! Memories of Best of Brass. It was a standard joke with friends of mine that one could only play this with a duel slide and valve trombone! Hearing this now takes me to the classic spoof by Mnozil Brass and Zoltan Kiss with his Hungarian Schnapsodie. A classic send up by the Mnozil guys. Great hearing this though. Nostalgia!

  • absolutely amazing

  • @marleyjay Quiting, never, you only starting to build your foundation, you now saw what can be done with an instument with a brass instument with no valves. Hard work and more hard work, and one day you will look back and say "can't believe I struggled that much", we all go through the foundation fases. Keep practicing and you shall make it good. Trust me, bin there and now got the shirt to proof it.

  • @stealthedscout Wow, you win pretentious comment of the year.

  • i hear things like this and i get depressed. ive been studying this instrument for about a year and a half and y dont improve. im thinking about quiting. maybe im meant to listen to it and enjoy it. wish i learned some techniques that would help me! good job martin wilson!

  • @marleyjay01 Quitting is the biggest mistake that you could make. Keep working at it, and you'll eventually get it. Trust me.

  • I'm a trombonist in high school and this really inspires me. I've listened to it many times and it makes me want to get better. If you know where I can find the arrangement for his piece I would love to know, also if you have any tips or recommendations those would be great too! (I'm still trying to figure out that pesky lip trilling) btw, what model trombone do you use in the video? I've got a Bach Strad. 42BO

  • Back in the late 70's and early 80's,when this video aired, all young British trombonists, including me, were heavily influenced by the great studio player Don Lusher who used slide vibrato extensively.I agree,it now sounds dated and inappropriate and,if I played it played now, would use a more controlled lip vibrato.Styles change..

  • @martywilson1962 For those who still enjoy this, classy never changes friend. :) My $.02

  • Alejandro by Lady Gaga... that is all.

  • his sound and technics are fucking awesome..

he's playing the almost hardest solo for trombone fucking perfekt :o

  • thumbs up if the audio came out of 1 speaker

  • @tromuniapp i though there was something wrong with my headphones...

  • Synchronized eye-brow raising heh..

The way he handle his slide is really amazing!

  • god. damn.

  • Two people didn't get a trombone Last Christmas.

  • He did what? I don't think that trombone can handle that guy. It's called a "slide replacement" after every performance.

  • 19 years old? Lol amazing

  • i can't find a arrangement for this. anyone know where i can?

  • i bet his girlfriend has a hayday when he goes down on her.

  • oh yes, that trombonist is pretty fine <3

  • THIS GUY IS AMAZING!!!!!!!! I wish i could do this on either tenor or bass trombone as i play both. what a guy

  • Wow! Amazing solo. Beautifully played.

  • now, I don't play trombone, I play euphonium, but slide vibrato? is this a preferred vibrato technique for trombones? just seems like kind of a hassle compared to the other method. Great performance though, no doubt.

  • @HatreddCopter It is pretty common. It gives the vib more effect. It keeps the solo unique to others.

  • @HatreddCopter and its defenitely not a hassle it's easier and sounds better

  • @HatreddCopter its kinda whatever you prefer. but what most teach, from where i'm from is to use your lips.

  • pls nice gair

  • 2 dislikes are STILL 2 many

  • the slide looks so light on his hands.

  • 2 people missed the 'Like' button because they were crying and couldn't see past the tears!

  • Get 500 views per night while you sleep, im not joking try it by registering with Y2BVIEWS com new site launched this week

  • Typical brass band music, technical brilliance (SERIOUSLY GOOD), but little musical interpretation...

  • HAAHAHA watch his eyebrows during the fast section.

  • Slide....Vibrato..... 0_o Other than that, amazing performance.

  • 19?!?! *jawdrop*

  • @Moose225777 in... 1982, imagine where he is now, 30 years later :O

  • @alapalolee Mind. Blown. He must be insanely good now. Gahh, it's mind blowing how good he must be!

  • you are a brilliant trombonist sir, thank you for posting this.

  • Amazing performance. And he's only 19. I give up!

  • yes !!!!! je n'ai pas des mots a ajouter......

  • very good It's nice

  • muito bom e o melhor parabens

  • I am responding on the subject of sheet music. I saw the comment you sent to another YouTube family member and I was wondering if you would not mind sending me the sheet music either. I would really appreciate it.

  • What kind of Lubricant is he using for the slide?

I could use some for my Trombone. :D

  • @kmaneke you should try slide-o-mix (; that stuff is amazing.

  • @kmaneke I don't know what kind he uses, but there are several that work extremely well. My personal choice is slide-o-mix. Works great, other good ones are Trombonetine, and superslick. I've used all three, and all of them work great. I just think slide-o-mix is easiest to use, and lasts a good while. It's kind of pricey, but it's great.

  • Wow, what an embrochure!

  • ima go get my trombone and kill myself.....

  • Two words, Trombone God.

  • I'm gonna try to do this this year... ps can someone plz help me do my notes keep cracking. Its only on certain notes like middle b flat and a flat

  • Wow, amazingly clean, even the trills were spot on.

  • Does England not put a space after a commas and periods?

  • Dang, I really want sheet of music for this peice.

  • Inspiring.

  • great slide technique

  • SUCH CLEAR ARTICULATION!!!! he sounds like a flute! LOL

  • A wonderful solo... Simply beautiful...

However, as a bass trombonist I DO find it a liiiiittle funny he puffs his cheeks on Bb ;]

  • @SilverKhondji no ones perfect some trombonists are specialized in higher octives and lower trombonists who may be proffesionals cant even get to a high f

  • @tromuniapp Yeah, you're right. That probably came off as disrespectful, when in reality I hold such a caliber of musician in the highest regard.

  • @SilverKhondji Well, Its actually more of what the musician is more comfortable with and in this case i dont think it Affects his music much eh?

  • @SilverKhondji Does it realy matter about the puff on the Bb , he is a brilliant trombone player , master class , rather like Don Lusher ,

  • @SilverKhondji Translation: Wow, wish I could play that well. Might as well make a criticism to make myself look better.

  • @SilverKhondji

Once you get that good, it seems okay to break the rules sometimes.

    haha.

  • i wish i could hit those high notes so beautifully....

  • it really is a great piece. He's playing this one in C/C minor. Lindberg does it in D/D minor. pretty tough. I did it in B flat, which seems to lay on the slide really easily if you can get all of the triple tonguing down. if you are a college/professional level player, don't think this is impossible! go for it! for all of you that think you'll never be this good, stop it! if you want to play it, then make it happen.

  • sorrey i got to pick my jaw off the floor

  • Awesome

  • DAM -jaw hits floor-

  • COUGH i wanna se u and oystein baddsvikk duo solo with an ochrestra

  • I tried to find a missed noted in this.... Didn't happen. Absolutely the best trombone i've ever heard in my life. And you were nineteen!! What i wouldnt give to be able to do that..

  • Really proved that you can do just as good as Christian lindberg, if not better! Great Musicianship!

  • i hopee jizz could be use as slide grease, CUZ I JUST CUMMED ALL OVER MY TROMBONE!!!!!

  • Musically, I think he could've portrayed more emotion when he played. However, he's one of the best technical players I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. Absolutely amazing.

  • i wish my slide was that clean.

  • @masonsrandomchannel fuck ya! i hear you, so smooth it looks ^_^

  • @masonsrandomchannel My slide was that clean until some fucker dented it :/

  • He must get laid a lot

  • like that comment from the Snooker-on-TV-guy "That's perfect!"

  • wow! great, and so effortless looking.

  • Well, I didn't like the beginning. It is well played, but you should not show all you've got in the first few seconds of the piece. Start easy, build some momentum and go out with a bang, that's how I prefer it.

  • holy shit is that a 6 1/2 on a tenor?!?!?!?! and a freaking amazing sound?!?!

  • If only i was ths good. I'm getting there though. Any tips for me to hit higher notes?

  • @moneymiz14 u could roll ur bottom lip in it should make u go higher but u have a slight difference in tone

  • @moneymiz14 also how long have u been playing

  • @moneymiz14 concentrate your air so you get a really sharp airflow (just pratice blowing into your hand so you can feel the sharpness of the flow. it feels almost like someone is poking it)which can be done by blowing with a little more ummph from down below and to tighten your throut a bit. start out gently with my tips. they work for me, but they might not for you. I could just be a freak of nature.

  • whatever happened to this guy. Id give a leg to have this guy as a tutor.

  • Thats a good overall performance but I feel like he should have spent more time working on interpretting the exposition and instead of playing the cadenza(which I feel didnt fit) he should have just played it as written. The fast section felt to relaxed to me, it wasnt as frantic and virtuostic as most players play it. Lindbergs video(not recording) shows a mocking of this frantic playing if you are curious and I feel that Alessi could play just as clean but knows it doesnt go with the style.

  • you aren the very first person ive ever seen to trill on trombone

  • @omgzitsmilk Are you kidding me? He's an amazing player. Post a video of you playing as good as this then you can make any comment you want.

  • @1124angel thats exactly what im pointing out, do you know how insanly hard it is to trill at all let alone at that speed? now shut up and leave me alone

  • I'm studing that... You are good boy...

  • Holy crap tht was outstanding beyond infinity man I wish I could play like tht!!!

  • Just jizzed and crapped myself at the same time idk if I should get help or watch it again that was awsome damn those rich ppl with their private tutors

  • where can i get the SHEET MUSIC!!!!

  • @knifenewbie456

    JWpepper.com

    Or alfred.com

  • Wow, that was great!

  • Well Done sir!!!!

  • Where can i get the music for this?

  • @sueleemo hickeys.com is probably the best online music store. check it out. and they have this i know

  • Does he play it a tone lower than original?

  • AH caray!!! fantastico!!! A TEXCOCO MEXICO LE HACE FALTA UN TROMBONISTA COMO DE ESTA CATEGORIA. (MUCHA MUSICALIDAD)......QUE LASTIMA NO TENERLO......Y SI LO HAY, PUES SE CREEN LA MARAVILLA DE MEXICO.

  • 19!?!?!

  • I had a music-gasam at this guy's amazing bone abilities. It just proves the old saying, if it is there, trombones will come and make it better and visually amazing.

  • can you buy this cd

  • Damn

  • this guy is amazing hands down better than most professinals

  • Such stable tone.

  • i have 15 and i play same good as thiss guy but i dont get any respect in my country but i should and its only 2 milion people here in slovenija and i dont get respect lol!!!

  • hehe... nice playe! but i guess that you usually plays jazz? i can see it expecially at the slive vibratos...

  • Great sound and technique! ... But where did you leave emotion? Too nervous?

  • "However, tonight, keeping relatively stable throughout..."

    lol

I love this guy's tone. Nice and dark. And his technique is uber, but his performance seems a bit... emotionless. Dunno. I think I like Lindberg's version better, even if it is a bit sloppy (not that I can do any better).

  • very good..... as good as this is for the age of 19 did it say? you should really listen to one from another artist whos name escapes my mind. from this you will know that you didnt exactly express your dynamics as much i know you probly could with all this talent and potential...... all i have to say 11/10

  • This is the best, super, I love it. congratulations

  • Holy shit... amazing

  • Everything about this vid was awesome

except that i used earphone but only left side

had sound. what's wrong with this video footage?

  • @FalconsViewpoint And I thought it was something wrong with my earphone

  • Did you win? Congrats from Panamá

  • oh my! you just make it seem so easy, don't you? :D

  • He's only 19! WTF!

  • Excellent!!

  • This guys a beast no doubt, but I personally prefer Christian Lindbergs. I feel as if Wilson wasn't playing with nearly the emotion and the phrasing in terms of dynamics.

  • I want a music sheet for this. Where can I find one?

  • @haloangel360 store

  • great technique, little beauty ihough

  • Hi Puma, He was doing double tongueing not triple. I play trumpet professionally

  • Comment removed

  • There was some triple tonguing in there too.

  • He's very good. But I've never liked how the Czardas sounded on the trombone. Trombone is so much more of a melodic instrument. And it's very unforgiving in a solo like this.

  • JESUS CHRIST........

  • amazing this guy made me want to learn this on my baritone:D

  • Comment removed

  • Only one word for this young man. Awsome. Too bad they don't have 6 stars. And narb, you may want to listen again. He is triple tounging in many spots. That is funny about the chicken though. Anyway, this young man is going to be, if not already, one of the best trombonist in the world, Great fun to listen to. And to all you fellow trombonist posting on here. Just keep practicing. Even if you never achieve this level of competence it is always fun to keep trying your best to get there.

  • @medicineman1951 are you a trombonist? how good are you do you reckon. cos if you were good i gess you would know that he is not world famous and that this was ages ago and he has burnt out... as far as world soloing goes. good luck with your playing
