Well said, buddy. You really thought out this message. IMO, even though I like third-party rides like The Simpsons Ride, I never really understood why Universal would close down classic Studios rides just to make room for attractions from other companies. I'm ok with Revenge of the Mummy and Dispicable Me because they're based on their own films. I just hope Jaws' closing won't be in vain. One thing's for sure, if they close E.T. for another licensed ride, I'm done with Universal.
I love Harry Potter no doubt, however, this was the dumbest decision made. I went last year and every single time I wanted to go on Jaws there was a 45+ minute wait. Universal is going further downhill than it needs to. I would pay these executives to keep Jaws for another year just so they could personally see the reaction.
Universal has lost my business and many others. I totally agree with you man. Now my dad can't even go to universal anymore, he has an implant which makes him not able to ride roller coasters and he gets motion sick. Jaws was the only one he could ride. It was his and my favorite ride. Now that it's gone we are too.
I don't like the video/roller rides like the simpsons, They make me feel sick. I will deeply miss the Jaws ride. I never got the chance to ride back to the future. I'm going to Florida in 2 weeks. Universal will not be on my agenda. As a theme park enthusiest. Never destroy. Always add more. If you run out of room. Build up or down.

This is such a great video. And so true. A fine example that Universal should've learned from was when they closed Back to the Future for the Simpsons ride... Actually there's no word on what will replace Jaws, but i'm very sure it won't be another Harry Potter attraction. It's still a shame they closed it though. I'm more than happy that i rode it back in 2008.
Universal was also my favorite park at one time. But lately, I don't mind taking my money a few miles down I-4 and going to Disney World.I like the direction Disney is heading in much more than Universal. Harry Potter means nothing to me. Universal should learn something from Disney bringing back Captain EO and the Tiki Room. Guests want to see the classics and parents want to show their favorites to their children.
I think they should have taken out that crappy fear factor show, not jaws. Jaws was fantastic and was one of the original rides. Jaws is the ride I think of whenever I hear universal studios. Harry potter is really dumb, its over, theres no more movies and people need to move on. Harry potter is over. There doesn't need to be anymore yet they continue to add more harry potter. Jaws will always be better than harry potter.

@DCMarvel2009 I completely agree. Harry potter doesn't belong in universal what so ever. It doesn't match the atmosphere at all and makes the park a lot less original being that jaws was one of the original rides when the park opened. Even spiderman the ride is better because spiderman has been around since way before the park even opened and is a lot cooler than harry potter which like I said before, is already old and over with. Theres no reason to continue, yet they do anyways.

The point is, universal studios is based off of old classics, that's what kept people the veterans coming back because of their old memories. So if they take out everything that was original to the park, all they are satisfying are little kids thats watch harry potter and the simpsons.
Universal better not make another harry potter thing in universal studios. Mainly because its just a waste. They better at least put Transformers the ride in there or else. Universal would just look like a gimmick
Josh,I have a year pass,i see things come and go all the time,im planning on visiting Universal on the 8th and im planning on looking at what Jaws looks like now,just so you know im leaving flowers for Jaws when i see it,its makes me sad seeing the attraction closed.i had alot of good memories on that ride.im a fan of Harry Potter and i like the new park but it needs to stay that way,we will all miss Jaws and we are all thankful we still have some classics.
So well said, Josh. My wife and I spent half of our honeymoon there in 2001 and those were four of the greatest and most fun days of my life. During our first full day there, we must've rode JAWS five times total (3 times in a row at one point) and EVERY single time was a blast. We loved it so much that the morning of the second day, because we were staying at the Universal Hard Rock, we were allowed into the park one hour earlier than the general public. The first ride we RAN to? JAWS.
And I couldn't agree with you more. My wife and I were SO excited about returning to Universal Orlando for our 15th anniversary and now...one of the biggest reasons for returning...and some of the magic...is now gone forever. So tragic...
But this is the kind of thing that separates universal studios from disney world. they keep the new generation in mind and keep pushing the envelope of cutting edge. disney may have its originals but ill take a seat on the scoop from spiderman any day. you just cant go to disney and be blown away like you can at universal. there is absolutely nothing at disney that comes anywhere close to the mind blowing sensation we obtain from universals mummy ride, spiderman, or harry potter.
I personally think if there's one ride that should be replaced, it's Twister.

Why not try replacing that with something from Singapore and Hollywood? You know, Transformers?

I have some connections with high up people in Universal, and truly believe that if we all come up with something, we can help keep "Bruce" in Universal.
Someone finally brings out the true story of destroying a classic ride. I can understand new rides, but take out something that people won't miss as much, like E.T. Why not just update the ride? Now, Universal Studios will be loosing JAWS fans, like me. I will not be coming back until JAWS is back. If we hurry, we might be able to convince Universal Studios to just update, and not kill JAWS, so I pose a very important question to anyone who is going to miss this ride.

All the water, sharks, buildings, electronics, boats, etc. are totally trashed and hauled away in a dumpster. I heard the lighthouse is still there, but that's likely coming down in a few days. There's no hope to save the classic ride sadly. :(
Ya I started crying while I was listening to this!.... I really wanted my future kids to ride the jaws ride....and universal won't get anymore of my money unless the jaws ride is there.... I miss it greatly..
I do admit I am a HUGE fan of Harry potter. But, that does not mean to destroy the most timeless attractions, heck I never got to ride most of the greatest rides in history, but I think that this mean somebody will do something, but before then I will just go to Disney, as a big Disney fan myself
I can't believe that Universal are doing this. The ONLY reason I wanted to go to Universal Studios was for this ride alone. I love the film, and to have the opportunity to be part of it in real life was just amazing. I'm so glad that I was able to visit this ride, but I'm also disgraced at Universal for making such a disasterous decision. I hope they re think their actions and realise how much it meant for everyone to be part of something as classic and exciting as this ride.

Just wait for a few years when Harry Potter isn't talked about and they'll have a huge credit card bill to pay and no customers. It WON'T hold up like some of the best films ever made and the park will be a big far failure. Whoever is making these decisions needs to be thrown out immediately, but I think too much damage has already been done. Thanks Disney for keeping the rides that we actually love and want to take our families to.
I wonder how this will affect Universal Studios Hollywood. Good thing they have the studio tour with some variations of attractions at Universal Orlando. Universal Studios Hollywood is going to change alot with the WWoHP coming, it's a really good idea that Universal Studios Hollywood is getting really good attractions, I'll rather go to the one in Hollywood.
It's funny too because I made an impromptu trip down to Universal on New Year's just so I could ride Jaws one last time. My girlfriend and I went on Jan 1st and proceeded to buy any souvenir that was Jaws related. As long as it had a shark on it, we bought it. What got me though was that there wasn't a lot of memorabilia left. Most of the stuff on the Jaws cart was just generic Universal logo T-shirts and hoodies. Hell, the souvenir store had more Potter stuff and he's in the OTHER park.
Wow this guy literally summed up every sentiment I had about the closing of Jaws. From their apparent need to make everything Harry Potter related, to the fact that they always claim that the movies that their classics are based on are no longer related. How many people don't hear the John Williams score ANY time they go swimming today? How many times a day do they still show Jaws on TV? As he stated, over half of the properties in the park aren't even actually owned by Universal anymore. Sad

not having a referb since the 09-10 season the sharks looked horrible as the paint on them was fadeing and the ride effects like the smoke after you kill jaws the smell of buring flesh and buring rubber was no longer there. Amity 3 was in terrible shape. And the sharks move like wooden planks...since the 05 season due to hurricanes but anyways I want to say thank you for getting me terrifed of getting killed by a shark Universal and for that I applaud you for but then again I take that back...

I am one of the biggest Harry Potter fans ever and i love it.......but even i think this is one of the stupidest things Universal has ever done. Jaws is a classic and is one of my favorite movie series so this is terrible....JAWS you will be missed. I agree 100%. They already re designed it back in 90 (and I was part of the original one that broke all the damn time). Getting rid of what is deemed to be "old" and "irrelevant" is just an absolute excuse. If its land they need, they can find it. They can expand. I have no doubt theres more room than we see and other ways to make things happen.

I agree completely! I think I was 5 or 6 when I went to Universal Studios for the first time and I had an outstanding experience! When I was 10 I told myself that when I was old enough I would work as a skipper there.. and now being 15, I am really sad to see it go and I know a lot of other people will too..... -RIP Jaws
I remember going on this ride back in 2003 when I was like 6 and it scared the living crap out of me. But also in a way, it fascinated me and my strongest memory's of the park were all of this ride. Sadly, I found out to late that this ride was getting closed and was unable to join any groups or pentions to help save the ride. Thanks for voicing for the ride and the fans.

Harry Potter is awesome (IMO). But moving it to the other park just seems... wrong. Idk how to explain it, but I think a theme needs to remain in 1 park (unless it's Halloween Horror Nights ;D). @katinka0921 Yeah but Star Wars was a break though in story telling and film for it's time. Same with JAWS. Both those franchises really pushed the limits of movies and opened up film making. Potter didn't really do that.
It's all about the money they wanna make more money out of Harry Potter theme. Universal will pay the consequences for that because Harry Potter will turn into forgotten and no one even care anymore in the future.
No BTTF, No Jaws, no Kong, why bother? I hate HP, so why would I ever want to go to USF again? Sure Jurassic Park, but that's not worth the price of admission.
This is an amazing well put together video. I've been twice to Universal Studious Orlando, coming from Scotland makes the rides that much more amazing, and Jaws was one of the more special ones, sad to see it go.

I've only ever been on the Jaws ride once, when I was four years old. I don't remember anything about it, but according to my whole family, that was the one ride that I kept nagging them to go back on throughout most of our holiday. This was all 13 years ago, and I really wanted to go back to see why I made such a big fuss about this ride back then. Let's hope Universal do the smart thing and keep it.

I do admit I am a HUGE fan of Harry potter. But, that does not mean to destroy the most timeless attractions, heck I never got to ride most of the greatest rides in history, but I think that this mean somebody will do something, but before then I will just go to Disney, as a big Disney fan myself

I can't believe that Universal are doing this. The ONLY reason I wanted to go to Universal Studios was for this ride alone. I love the film, and to have the opportunity to be part of it in real life was just amazing. I'm so glad that I was able to visit this ride, but I'm also disgraced at Universal for making such a disasterous decision. I hope they re think their actions and realise how much it meant for everyone to be part of something as classic and exciting as this ride.

Just wait for a few years when Harry Potter isn't talked about and they'll have a huge credit card bill to pay and no customers. It WON'T hold up like some of the best films ever made and the park will be a big far failure. Whoever is making these decisions needs to be thrown out immediately, but I think too much damage has already been done. Thanks Disney for keeping the rides that we actually love and want to take our families to.

I wonder how this will affect Universal Studios Hollywood. Good thing they have the studio tour with some variations of attractions at Universal Orlando. Universal Studios Hollywood is going to change alot with the WWoHP coming, it's a really good idea that Universal Studios Hollywood is getting really good attractions, I'll rather go to the one in Hollywood.

It's funny too because I made an impromptu trip down to Universal on New Year's just so I could ride Jaws one last time. My girlfriend and I went on Jan 1st and proceeded to buy any souvenir that was Jaws related. As long as it had a shark on it, we bought it. What got me though was that there wasn't a lot of memorabilia left. Most of the stuff on the Jaws cart was just generic Universal logo T-shirts and hoodies. Hell, the souvenir store had more Potter stuff and he's in the OTHER park.

Wow this guy literally summed up every sentiment I had about the closing of Jaws. From their apparent need to make everything Harry Potter related, to the fact that they always claim that the movies that their classics are based on are no longer related. How many people don't hear the John Williams score ANY time they go swimming today? How many times a day do they still show Jaws on TV? As he stated, over half of the properties in the park aren't even actually owned by Universal anymore. Sad

not having a referb since the 09-10 season the sharks looked horrible as the paint on them was fadeing and the ride effects like the smoke after you kill jaws the smell of buring flesh and buring rubber was no longer there. Amity 3 was in terrible shape. And the sharks move like wooden planks...since the 05 season due to hurricanes but anyways I want to say thank you for getting me terrifed of getting killed by a shark Universal and for that I applaud you for but then again I take that back...

Has anyone even realized they haven't CONFIRMED the real replacement? I almost flew down to Florida from my home town of Hyannis, MA (A.k.A almost the real home of Jaws) just to go to the park for a day to go on this ride. I am one of the biggest Harry Potter fans ever and i love it.......but even i think this is one of the stupidest things Universal has ever done. Jaws is a classic and is one of my favorite movie series so this is terrible....JAWS you will be missed. R.I.P....or hopefully Universal will rethink there decision and bring JAWS back and make it better then ever. Thanks Josh for making this video

I agree 100%. They already re designed it back in 90 (and I was part of the original one that broke all the damn time). Getting rid of what is deemed to be "old" and "irrelevant" is just an absolute excuse. If its land they need, they can find it. They can expand. I have no doubt theres more room than we see and other ways to make things happen.

@jps2b I miss Kong, I miss BTTF,I miss the REAL Earthquake and now, after being on the last boat ever, JAWS. If its experiencing bad ride numbers, then maybe its not the ride, but the advertising. Hell the old Hard Rock sat UNUSED for almost 10 years. WTF? Thats PRIME space for something BIG! Universal made it BIG on those rides and the dreams that came with them. I find NOTHING in common with a Twister. I like the simpsons, but not more than a flux capacitor. The mummy will never top an ape.

@jps2b Bring back the magic. IOA is working, let it be what it is, but for the studios...No. BTW, Rip Ride Rockit is a waste of space, isnt that greata ride, and RUINS the New York Experience. That could have been used for something better as well. You need a better park planning team. Maybe were just growing old and need nostalgia, but lets bring kids up on whats REALLY awesome. They dont know what Jaws is? They will after he almost eats them.

I agree completely! I think I was 5 or 6 when I went to Universal Studios for the first time and I had an outstanding experience! When I was 10 I told myself that when I was old enough I would work as a skipper there.. and now being 15, I am really sad to see it go and I know a lot of other people will too..... -RIP Jaws

I remember going on this ride back in 2003 when I was like 6 and it scared the living crap out of me. But also in a way, it fascinated me and my strongest memory's of the park were all of this ride. Sadly, I found out to late that this ride was getting closed and was unable to join any groups or pentions to help save the ride. Thanks for voicing for the ride and the fans.

Harry Potter is awesome (IMO). But moving it to the other park just seems... wrong. Idk how to explain it, but I think a theme needs to remain in 1 park (unless it's Halloween Horror Nights ;D). Also, to everyone saying "HP won't last" I disagree. I believe that it will live on for at least another 20 years before it is forgotten. Look at Star Wars! It's STILL big lol

@katinka0921 Yeah but Star Wars was a break though in story telling and film for it's time. Same with JAWS. Both those franchises really pushed the limits of movies and opened up film making. Potter didn't really do that.

This is an amazing well put together video. I've been twice to Universal Studious Orlando, coming from Scotland makes the rides that much more amazing, and Jaws was one of the more special ones, sad to see it go.

I've only ever been on the Jaws ride once, when I was four years old. I don't remember anything about it, but according to my whole family, that was the one ride that I kept nagging them to go back on throughout most of our holiday. This was all 13 years ago, and I really wanted to go back to see why I made such a big fuss about this ride back then. Let's hope Universal do the smart thing and keep it.
