  • What Honda should do is make a carbon fiber chassis based on the nsx, but update it, like the new Mclaren. And then they should get 2 s2000 engines, stroke them up and mod them and fuse them to make a 4.8L v8. And put that engine in the new chassis. I saw a tuning company make a 2.4L s2k engine with over 300whp. How can Honda let Ferrari get more hp/L with the Italia? C'mon, Honda, use my power of Dream!

  • @Dante1969 Hondas are famous for not using forced induction. Only recently their SUV's have turbos, but their sportscars, never. As for this one, I think it has 500hp turbo.

  • @MidShipCivic Mclaren mp-12c, look it up. They can engineer a v8 using f20c components, after all, it is one of the best, no the best na hp/L engine in the world. Might as well use that engineering. I know about the HSV, that's an all out race car, of course the engine would be better than a standard f series. And I'm not stupid, I actually have a few patents out to do with automotive engineering.

    Mclaren has made a carbon fiber chassis, why not Honda? The v8 thing was just a basic idea off using f20c components, like rods, pistons, etc. that could be slightly changed for the application. Heck, they could make a v10. And I said the future car, not the current one. Although it won't happen.

  • Absolutly impressing. You can watch this a hundred times and it is still amazing.

    He is really at the limit. You can see him using as much of the engine braking effect as possible by almost overrewing (is he over the upshift rev limit?) it while downshifting. You need a very good engine and tranmission for that aggressive downshifting. But here you find the hundreths of a second that can make the difference between first place and the others.

  • xxsuperstreetxx there is clearly a clutch. When you see him on the straight his left foot twiches just a bit every time just as he shifts. And also not all sequential transmissions are clutchless, which is why there are sequential transmissions and sequential clutchless transmissions. Sequential just means that the shifter movement is straight up and down and there is no side to side movement. Calling someone an idiot is not the best way to inform people or answer someone elses question.

    i know that he is using the gas to match the Rpm to the lower gear, but why can't he keep on the brakes ?

  • Well he is staying on the breaks. What you see and probably mistake for the breaking action is his left foot which is operating the clutch.

    What he is doing is breaking with the right foot while "heel and toeing" on to the accelerate each time he changes down a gear.

  • The only the reason he broke track record is because they retuned that ARTA NSX back to its 2002 setup. Thats when it was the fastest, but in 2003 JGTC rules changed dramatically in the power to weight ratio aspect which made the NSX virtually unable to compete with the GTR'S and Supras cause they were able to go 10 KPM faster. Then thier was a big scandal later on, since no one from honda was on the JGTC (Super GT/GT)board.....
