I told TLC and the Discovery Channel that, they should leave their supernatural programing to other networks. I know they are using such programing to bring in viewers, but it discredits their ability to present themselves as a source for valid science based educational programing. If they continue to include all this supernatural stuff, they will lose viewers to PBS cable and other networks that come up who trully focus on science and education.

I actually sent a few e-mails to TLC and the Discovery channel about all of their supernatural programs because, I feel they muddy the waters between science and science fiction for viewers, especially children. I told the networks that, their programs should focus on scientific methods, logic, and reason. With groups like creationists/Intelligent Design muddying science in schools, the last thing we need to be doing is following suit on so called educational TV networks.

Your a prime example of the damage such shows, and the crazy ideas put out by groups like creationists and intelligent design cause. Every day, bacterium develop resistance to antibiotics, insects develop resistance to insecticides, because they evolve. These form of life are short lived, and thus go through countless generations in a short period of time. Insects can go through hundreds of generations within a year or so, while bacteria can go through millions of generations.
