@Morihay Hi there. Yes all of the footage in the video is from The Shining, 1980. It's the longer cut of the film though. It's when Wendy goes back into the lobby and sees them and kinda freaks out.

Also in your version the part at 1:20 where he jiggles the modules in his hand isn't in the other cut... he just takes one out in the other one.

@shumi182 Yes, I can confirm this is the same movie as in Twister. Every time I see Twister, I wait for that part haha. The parts they show in Twister are the hallway scene (Twins and Danny) and the part where Jack is breaking the door down later in the movie just as the twister rips the screen off.

I think the hotels' past and history was starting to show, and this event was from the past. Like the guy that says "Great party, isn't it?" he was in the hotel but a very long time ago.

@Simpsonsfever1 actually, there is a reason. @pandasarebears It is a reference to the "dog man" in the novel of The Shining. Basically, in the novel, it elaborates on someone who wanted to join the upperclass society that gathers at the Overlook Hotel, so he acts as their "servant", sort of, dressing up in the dog suit and doing favors for them. Obviously you can tell that some of the favors are of a sexual nature.

The woman in the bathtub was of the woman who was murdered in the hotel by her husband, Grady, who also lived in the hotel for 5 months just like Jack did previously.

Grady went insane and killed his wife and two daughters, which are the two girls that Danny sees in the hotel.

Thanks for the comment. I do like Fortuna, always have. When I get some more hard drive space, I may make another trailer one maybe from a different film. This trailer took 60+GB on the drive (as it had the whole film in high quality editable format).

The Overlook Hotel, is the main reason for it. He had a few problems before he came to the hotel as well, though. These are lightly mentioned in the long version of the film, and even more in the book. It's a good read :-)

and to comment on the S.King book...it's excellent..even though i;m a bigger fan of The Stand, Bag Of Bones and Insomnia...Cell was a bit average though..all in all he;s a brilliant author...a book of his that would make a great movie in my opinion is Eyes of the Dragon..

as for the shining..it's really well written but kubricks take on it is completely different..i love the fact that once the movie is over a lot of questions are left unanswered..and it's a deeper psychological study.

Also the part at 1:21, in the short version, Jack takes ONE electrical plug thing from the C.B. radio, in the longer cut he takes more than one and rattles them in his hand as seen here...

The woman sitting at 0:46 is also not in the short version, although she is still in the opening titles - Anne Jackson, The Doctor... ;)

I love both the long and the short versions, but I don't know which I like best... maybe the longer cut..

Nah, I think they should leave the movie as it is. You really never know with a remake and usually it messes up the reputation of the original, and this style of a movie can't really be matched and the cast of the original is PERFECT and I don't know who else could do it, so yeah. I think it was the demons/spirit in the hotel starting to surface, and Wendy started to see them. They started affecting Jack, but then they started showing to her as well.

That's my personal take on it, anyway hehe. I don't know for sure though...

Three parts. It is the mini series that the made for The Shining, I think Stephen King wrote the tele-play for it too, so it was more true to the book. I have it on DVD. I like it too, I like both the movie and the mini series in their own ways, i don't have a favorite...
