Karua, principled leadership and Kenyan politics are simply incompatible, an anomaly if you will. The Central province power brokers, Moi, etc want continuity and that is amply represented by one of their own- read, Uhuru. You, Karua, were to threatening to the status-quo, too reformist and clean, save for your role in masterminding Kibaki back to State House in that stolen election. Remember that?

Of course this a good example that should be followed by any other minister who is not able to discharge his or her duties effectively, either because of incompetence or "tied hands". But if i have dig deep in karua's case, it is only recently that she stepped out of sycophancy of P.N.U probably because she had been locked up from the inner circle. But that aside, it was not good to select judges behind her back. Kudos karua

Martha, now pull your party out of the Grand Coalition. Narc-Kenya should dis-associate itself from the PNU, otherwise your resignation would be viewed as entirely a personal ego trip and earned freedom to campaign for the top seat without being seen to be biting the hands that feed you. Know that you are from Central Province just like Kibaki and Uhuru and this makes your situation quite unique from Kibaki's resignation as VP on Moi and Raila's breakaway from Moi's KANU. i am a kalenjin, i am happy that we now have someone who standsup for people and stands up for what is right. i have been advocating for someone to came out and be a champion for justice. people might not like her, the lady stands on principal. this should encourage other mininsters and leaders to put the coutry ahead of personal gains. kenyans should support people like karua. i would like Odm ministers to resign too. My heart says sympathy for her but my head reminds me of her actions in KICC when she short changed Kenyans and rigged the incumbent in! Does she think we will sympathise with her fickle emotions? The man she stood by and defended at his hour of need just kicked her in the teeth without second thought, how funny. And she talks about IPPG stuff? Didn't she sometimes back in 2007 say it was Kibaki's constitutional right to appoint commissioners he wanted? Well whats the difference now with judges?

I think Martha Karua has done a good move. there is no point of working so hard to bring in reforms yet the old mzee Kibaki doesnt want that. if its not reforms, then there is no time to waste pushing for it. she is honorable in that she chose to stop earning a salary for nothing as a Minister instead of the other greedy Ministers we have who do nothing but earn salaries. That is a rude awakening for PNU. Martha Karua is just doing what she was dully elected to do in the 1st place; To defend the constitution and the PPL of Knya. It is sad that majority of the MP's we elected chose greed and self centered intrests. It seems that your quest for the presidency over rode all other concerns to concede to your opponents and to quit the Government.
