Well the robots are old... Most of them are from America sings which came before splash mountain even excised. They must have not fix them so they would be moving better and not break down a lot.

@Webkinzpeacepuppy798 Well as I said in other comments, the problem wasn't really the animatronics, but the hydraulics line that gives them motion.

@goo83 Well, in this case, cast members thought some hydraulics line that was connected to all the animatronics had broken, so all of the animatronics for the first half of the ride did not have enough hydraulics pressure to move, i think.

@rubyredmedia Well, I went on the ride 3 times in a row, and it wasn't until the third time that the ride broke down, and they realized it pretty quickly.
