  • @ :24, now that is a Parisian! :) Le le le le realisateur of THIS film is good! :) Nice work! It made me smile! :)

  • @myjourneytoraw hahaha indeed ! there was os much good footage that we got but were under a strict time consideration for the inserts. I may go back and have a look at the stuff on the editing room floor!

  • This is way more interactive than a GPS! ha, loved hearing the voices and seeing hand gestures!

  • @cooksterz we had a great time trying to illicit the *right* answers! Chris the presenter did a very good job - he did have about twenty takes to get the pronunciation of 'Truffaut' correct!

  • It appears most of them knew where to find Truffaut's grave, unless the interviewer asked where the nearest loo was.

  • @DelisaProductions haha we did have to get creative with the questions to get them to point the same way!

  • Darn that Liz1060 and her theft of the pig/truffle pun comment I was going to leave! I really must get here earlier or else all my puns will be undone!

Great job with this piece Les. I'm sure Truffaut couldn't have done it any better himself!

  • @Blinkazoid Not enough puns to go around! I'm sure Truffaut would turn in his grave if there were room - that cemetery is really crowded!

  • Beautiful work! You done good :)

  • @phekwig thanks Andy. It was really hard work, but the kind of hard work that puts a smile in your heart :) Loved the experience - want to do it again!

  • Better than Waiting for Godot. At least y'all found the guy.

  • @ebiannah haha - it helped that he was real!:)

  • Standing O from this fille, Lesley!

My favorite Close Encounter of la Parisienne kind was Monsieur painter...love the capturing of so many wonderful moments on this adventure. xo

  • @anniehiggy it was such a fun experience - the people of Montmartre are quite used to having camera crews around and they take it in their stride. Where the painter was filmed was steps from one of the locations where Amelie was shot. We had a blast.

  • I laughed! I cried! I plotzed!!

Okay, can I just say how FRICKEN COOL it is to see you producing stuff like this for 'regular' TV? Right on!

  • @OhCurt I've lost the plotz! haha this was a university project but I was pleased with the results. Plus it was so much fun!!

  • @anotherclicheddesign it was terrific fun - 5 days with 2 days working - my kind of work week!

  • Well, at least you'll know where he is next time & he's not likely to be going anywhere!

Although i knew he was well respected film director. I only really knew him from his acting role in Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. That's probably not how he should be remembered? :)

  • @andymooseman very easy to interview once we located him.

He started out as a film critic I believe. My favourite film he directed is Jules et Jim.

  • I love the painter chap - he is so much like an English caricature of a Frenchman!

  • @MrRandomWritings We tried to get him to put a strand of garlic around his neck but he was having none of it!

  • @LeSaMilano that's beret sad! x

  • @MrRandomWritings it was the snail in the coffin really

  • @LeSaMilano If it was vampires he was worried about you could have tried a stake but they are very rare in France

  • @MrRandomWritings I think you are safe as long as you put on an entrecôte.

  • @LeSaMilano oh, will a plastic mac do?

  • @MrRandomWritings not if you want to be the apple of my eye

  • @LeSaMilano Core! Saucy!

  • Pardon Moi, can you direct me to the intersection of Truffaut and Lelouch?

You poor dear, having to spend time in Paris. Quel dommage !

  • @FantasticBabblings It's tough having to muddle through Paris only knowing food terminology. ;)

  • ooo ... I think you should have like a dog or a pig help you find truffault, they are really good at sniffing them out ... and maybe look more like out in the country ...

  • @liz1060 hehehe, we had to look under slab of marble rather than a pile of leaves!

  • How do they not know him?

  • @HeyThatsMike I think they didn't understand our French LOL

  • Well, at least we'll know where to find him when we go to visit Paris. :-)

    hugs, Chris

  • @bugsinrug It's easy - he's down the row from Moliere, Degas and Oscar Wilde!

  • That was interesting...There seemed to be a lot of pointing...hehe

  • @DawndeeDALLAS they knew where something was - and it was' that way!' lol

  • lol So they were right, he was OVER there, THAT way! Nice location ; )

I'll be honest with you, I'm not too sure who he is/was without looking him up, but something tells me he loves truffles! ; P

  • @Pippilly haha - perhaps he was a truffle eater! He made several really good yet offbeat films (he's French ffs!)

  • Great job and atleast some of them knew what was going on.I heard of a poll taken a few months ago where they asked ppl who america gained their independance from 26% got it wrong and like 20 more didn't even answer.

  • @bearchay889 I think people know more about Paris Hilton's wardrobe than the US constitution *sigh*

  • He was in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and I'm pretty sure that he left earth in the mother ship. That is all.

  • @HeyRadialMoon He was and did indeed! ha!

  • Off to Paris to make a film short... Ah... the life of a film maker! Can I carry your luggage? ;-)

  • @longhairred ooh la la , oui oui madamme! (I could always use help schlepping equipment! lol)

  • Good to see he was found...and that he hasn't changed a bit in the nearly three decades...:-)

That was wonderful as always, Les! How fun...shooting on location in Paris! I'm officially envious...:-) xoxoxo

  • @GreatGig1 I had such a good time filming there, had a great crew which made it all the better! I want to do this when I grow up! LOL
