@Rg1527 if you're counting it out aith the metronome on the video then the first note comes in just before the 4.
This gets complicated but really the metronome is only half time, so what i've called 116bpm is really 232bpm, and the pickup starts on the 2& leading into the first bar of the sequence.
This sounds so good. I envy anyone who can play well over the A section of rhythm changes. Everything I play sounds like it came out of an exercise book.
To celebrate the release of my new album, Rockin' In Rhythm: A Tribute To Duke Ellington, Telarc International is giving away a complimentary two-night stay at the Carlyle Hotel, two tickets to my performance, dinner for two and a travel voucher!
the people who didn't like this post obviously don't understand a thing about jazz.don't worry dude.you got it right. (:Having the metronome on 2 and 4 will make it better.
Hey man, this is an awesome solo you came up with for this song. I would sure love to get hold of the tab for what you did. Is it available anywhere? And is there tab for the second part of the solo? Can you tell me how I can get my guitar playing hands on it. Do you have a website that has the tab? If there is a way to get the tab from you can you let me know. Thanks bigbob0858
Dude you are slamming! I would also love to get a copy of the tabs you worked out. This piece is a bit advanced for me, but with the tabs I think I might have a fighting chance. Thanks again for breaking all this down.
Could someone tell me on what beat of what bar the first note comes in
I treid playing this over the changes and i keep having to cut off the end of the first A

fantastic and great feel.

Sounds good. My suggestion however would be to have the metronome on 2 and 4 as opposed to 1 and 3. Youll get a much better feel.

You don't need tabs. Learn your Rhythm changes, something every musician should know and use your ear which I'm pretty sure is what this guy did.

Nice work dude, Sounds really really good, but try with the metronome on beat 2 + 4. It lets the rhythm swing even more.

I don't know anything about jazz guitar playing, but what scales are you using?
nasseri 4 years ago
'sounds' like a mixolydian mode(1,2,3,4,5,6,b7) with a some bebop scale (1,2,3,4,5,6,b7,7) mixed in..I hear some Dom 7 and some 6/9 chords
