I know how you feel here. My family doesn't believe that I'm a goth girl just because I don't dress like one all the time. The reason for that is that my parents won't let me dress that way because it's "satanic" and all that nonsense (they prefer to listen to the stereotypes to the actual truth). The funny thing is that when I dress in dark clothing and wear the makeup, I actually feel more like myself. Plus, I think I look much prettier when dressed that way.
This is very upseting that you had to hide yourself to pertect yourself, but you shouldn't hide your real self to please others and let them win. I've been a goth since i was in high school year9 and i just come out off college. fair few years but in that time i was looking for my real self so i changed like you did but 2 fit in mainly e.g liek chav, gangsta wanna be lol, but then turnt to the goth. but now i am myself and you should to my dear. don't list to other people just coz you being you.
OK honeychild that comes with the territory, being "persecuted" for being in the "Goth" action. So why mope? You made your bed, you sleep in it, for I've a sneaking suspicion you knew what it was bound to incur before getting involved in the first place. Perhaps you ought to spend the remainder of the best years of your life in something more substantial, profitable, and lasting, like becoming a civil engineer, a social worker, a professional women's baseball team coach, an icthyologist, etc.
I mean, there's been times I wish I could alter what I've been lashed, ridiculed, and rejected for due to something I can I assure you I had no control over whatsoever. Being called spic, nigger, half-breed, sand nigger, illegal alien migrant worker, and terrorists due to my skin color and facial bone struct on account of my mixed race has become tiresomely familiar. Point being, unlike Goth apparel that can be easily removed, I'm stuck with my looks till the crack of doom.
hey i know wher eur comming from but never let any negative comments bring u down bc the ppl tht say negative stuff bout u have nothing better to do with their lives, i get negative comments all the time but i ignore them bc the ppl tht say them mean nothing and are nothing in my life,
@Mikediah i'm goth and i try to be nice to everyone, but it's really hard when they treat you like you're dirt when you haven't even done anything. it's very hard. we're not mean at heart, people make us look like we are
Excuse me, but you are clearly mistaken with the 'mallgoths' of society. 'True goths' are generally very nice, and I'm guessing you've never met any. It's not about the fashion. Your comment was very offensive and, I'm sorry to say this, but you seem like an ass yourself, falsly grouping in an entire subculture with what the media and the pre-teens make out goth to really be. 'True goths' are still romanticists, just less found now days. So please, don't group us in with the children. :D
i've been attacked by mature adults twice and im a teenager..trying to live my life and mind my own business and be happy...in myself!..walking down the street..they hit me like i've done someting so terrible to them..im REALLY going to sue them this time if they do this again..my mom has already forced me to stop dressing the way i do..and i dont have any friends who're NOT ashamed to walk/hangout w/ me..
there are so many people like us out there. still struggling with being goth or anything that truly defines us. i saw the root vid and was so happy especially the girl noting she like cartoons and is a trekkie! you are lovely and stay true to who you are.
This video brought tears to my eyes... I did see the video this is a reply to, and I completly agree... You should follow and believe and dress the way you want to and do what you feel is right... I love you're comment in the video about how we only have one life... only one chance to really enjoy ourselves and do what we love... And I think you're totally pretty with the make-up, I don't understand what loving family would even SAY that to a relative, it's a compliment covered in steel...
A saying to consider. "I'd rather be hated for what i am. Than loved for that which i am not." Keep rocking hun and be sure to read my mail i sent. It should help.
Eli plz don't pret attention to people and what they say, live ur life, im in morocco and we have more problems than u im in a heavy metal band and people don't like us because of our style, but we go ahead with what we do without pretting attention to anyone, and finally we win because we impose our style and ideas, keep rock Elizabeth. bye (and sory for english) lol :p
Don't give up who you are. Hold your head up high and be proud. I get abuse for being who I'm over the last three years my blond has been dyed blue, black, red, green and purple. I love corsets, platforms, bustle skirts, fall etc. Yes the looks can make you feel uneasy at times especially if your own and a crowd starts picking on you but at the end of the day if people can't appreciate you for who you truely are then it is their loss and not yours. x
Thats terrible.I know how you feel though. The internet is really the only place I can be goth.I could never where the makeup or the victorian clothing.
I like the black lipstick and the black nail polish. I looks real good on you. It's "sweetly dark" sort of speak and a bit edgier. Keep doing more videos, I enjoy them.
And yep, I've had rocks and empty cans thrown at me, larger tipped over my head, I've been chased. It's an absolute pain. The main reason I hate where I live.
And you'll definitely have to send me some pics of the style you like. I'm really interested now.
Hi Elizabeth WOW THANK YOU FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL VID RESPONSE THAT SENT SHIVERS THROUGH MY BODY.THERE IS NOTHING BETTER THAN BEING YOURSELF AND YOU ARE SO SWEET AND I CAN FEEL THE GOOD IN YOU.GO FOR IT GIRL .YOU TOTALLY ROCK.PEACE OUT.
@TheMomoZone yeah i have to agree. i've been going down a romantic victorian path for some time without realizing it, and finding it quite hard because i go to a very consesrvative school and my friends think goths are just a steriotypical group looking for attention, this has given me a boost.

Either you're a fan of Goth Rock or your not; it's as simple as that.
A smart person once said if you once was a Goth than you never was.
