Awh, poor Amber. I kinda liked her around "Mom let's just deal with it" and she starts flirting with the black dude, but this scene's just digging the knife in.
Velma is my favorite character, I'm glad this got vut. In the play, she doesn'y get fired, but is promoted to make a line of cosmetics for black women, I like that one because she still gets what is coming to her, but she still has a job and is not humiliated by being let go on national television.
btw, in the Hairspray extensions(from the DVD), the rehearsal scene of 'Miss Baltimore Crabs' has some lyrics not featured in the CD or the movie itself, about the Mister Von Tussle ('the old fart dropped dead and left me some money, so i bought this station so that the whole nation can see amber and me')..anyone have info about it?
She actually started dancing with the black guy she was eyeing. You can see it clearly on the DVD version of the deleted scene which goes a bit further then this
could someon put what cornny colins was saying and the rest of the council members... about arresting velma because its kinda fast and i cant understand it. thanks but great video! and great job
You should have put the entire scene, the dancing and all, but that's cool. I like this one better than the theatrical ending, but that's me. I see why it was cut.
LOLOLOL so funny i love how they convinced him so easily just by the music XD

Would you seriously get arrested for messing with a pagent? What mad laws they had back then! lol.
RorySeizeTheDay 1 year ago 2
If they put that in it would ruin the song...

plus she and Amber turn good at the end too!!
darreyl102 2 years ago
I agree. In my mind, Velma gets rehired because no one else can manage the show better. After all, it's a very small town ;)

someone should make the full you can't stop the video (the ten minute one) with this ending in it instead
youcantstopthebeat02 3 years ago 5
I don't like how they gave Amber's lines to a cop, I would have loved it if Amber and Velma joined in at the end like in the Broadway version.
VoleurGarcon 4 years ago 5
It would have looked really dumb tho in a movie.
theemaestro576 3 years ago
Me too! That would've been a good ending for everyone. Velma's my fave and she shouldn't end unhappily.

The lyrics you heard are from the Broadway Musical.
ArsonistMonkey 4 years ago
Wow, that was horrible.
I'm glad they cut it out. The final result was definitely better.
Still, it would have been nice if the Van Tussles had joined at the end.

missbaltimorecrabs 4 years ago 4
Hilarious. This should be in the film!

This would have been better if the Von Tussles sang like they did in the broadway version...but it is still cool
jebus77777 4 years ago 4
Why the hell isn't this in the movie?
diroman114 4 years ago 4
this is cool but it would have really messed up the ending so i think they made a good call on leaving out this one.

Poor Amber, she now has neither of her parents. Franklin dead and Velma arrested.
HSMRules2222 4 years ago 2
actually in the original, both of her got arrested.
ladyluv2010 4 years ago
That's true, but in this version, dad's dead, mom's arrested.
HSMRules2222 4 years ago
Was Amber's dad in the play?
keeko777 4 years ago
No he wasn't.
HSMRules2222 4 years ago
Amber's dad wasn't in the play in order to respect Sonny Bono
missbaltimorecrabs 4 years ago 8
What are you talking about?
collgoff 4 years ago
In the Original hairspray Sonny Bono played Amber's dad and out of respect they decided not to include the character in the play.
missbaltimorecrabs 4 years ago 9
