The dorsal hump and the claws and coat look like a grizzly. The snout isn't classic grizzly and its got a bit more taper like a black bear, but still I say that is definitely a grizz.
Everybody who thinks this is a black bear obviously is speaking before thinking, and needs to go look at more pics of bears and touch up on the wildlife education, its CLEARLY a Grizz, Gizzly bears can vary in color, from dark brown, like this one, to brown, to even cinnamon and a few other variations im sure. I dont even know how you can call the color black, its clearly dark brown, look up black bear and you'll see black.
No, that's a grizzly. You can tell by the hump behind the shoulders. you can't use color to identify types of bears. Black bears come in black, brown, and cinnamon. So do Grizzlies.
@fsuhornb and you win the prize. the hump is the give away for the grizly. I wasn't aware grizlies came in black though? Not saying your wrong I just never heard of it, or saw it. but the list of things I don't know is pretty big so there ya go.
It's a grizzly, not a black bear...Black bears have much smaller and more curve to the claws.
