I dont think so. however be sure by watching the manual and see what IN and OUT door have the CDI500.

yes you can, but you need an audio interface with 2 outs 2 ins like the maya 44 or the dj console rmx or mkii, or whatever you find with those inputs outputs

Can you preset the loop on the CDI 500? I have a Pro Scratch II and it doesn't have that feature. I'm looking at either the CDI 500 or the Pioneer CDJ 400.

mmmhh.... you can just recall it by press RELOOP button. or you can store max 6seconds as a sample, and so if you want you can store many loop untill 6 seconds.

You can plug it into a home amp, guitar amp, or home audio system with Aux Inputs but take into account that you can only plug one at a time, if you want to actually mix between two players you will need a mixer.

if you're going to plug it into an amp, you might want to make sure its a bass amp, b/c if its a guitar amp, the bass could blow your speakers

Would it be better to buy the CDI 500 system with the mixer already or separate them buying the mixer ?? Does it matter?

DO NOT GET VELOCITY!!! I know what I'm telling you man. They are VERY sensitive. I have a pair of these CDI 500's, but I got them with out the mixer. I went out and bought a mixer with sound F/X in it. Now I have a kick ass system.

Only buy gear separately. If you buy a cd unit that has a built in mixer and one thing breaks, the whole unit is screwed. If you buy 2 decks and a mixer all separate then you can replace the broken unit and maybe rent a deck till you get the other one fixed or buy a new one. I use the cdi 500 mp3 unit and it's amazing. The velocity looks great but i doubt it would be very practical.

are u asking if cdj400 are better than cdi500? so the answer is "yes maybe" but I think so just becouse I believe that piooner know much better how to develop his stuff. On the other hand I like very much the way of cdi500's effects, I mean you can set and modify in a very cool way the effects that sounds good. I hope to be able to make a video for show it. The other classic functions of cdi500 works good it got no wrongness obviously.

I own the stanton c314 its pretty much the same player as the 500, the the quality of stanton is crap, i'm selling mine and getting the cdi500mp3

for the price they are everything you need, exspecially if you don't want to shell out the extra cash for the pioneers. just my 2 cents

I got a cdi500 and it only play cd & cd-r no mp3 never tryed mp3 till 2 years after got it so now have to keep it.

If you put-in a cd made of mp3 tracks, "cdi-500" seems to read it right, but it can't play it.

cdi500 can't read mp3. But American audio developed a new version called "CDI-500 MP3" that can read mp3 you can recognize it becouse the jogwheel is made by different stuff.

I think the dn-s1000 are better bcose Denon is much suggested like Pioneer. dn-s1000 can read mp3 cdi500 can't. I got question: does dns1000 got engine-driven jogwheel? Bcose the dn-s1000 I tried it haven't got it and for scratching it I had to push down the wheel so make a pressure when scratching, but we can see videos on youtube where the dns1000 seems to have an engine-driven when scratching and it dont need pressure. who can answer?

cdi-500 package is the only one i tried in my life, however yes i think it is good enought, i like much the way you can manipulate the effects (i didn't show in my video). The jog wheel works well, is pretty sensible, you can obtain different sounds(scratching) by use different pressure or velocity/when you move your hand on the jog. The scratch effect got also parameter can be set. I think u was ask if the jog is engine-driven, it is not engine-driven. Ciao.
