I keep in my own lane when I don't have a clear view in front of me.

The camera is mounted to the helmet and not my eyes... Thus it doesn't accurately reflect where my eyes are pointing. It's an old vid - before bulletcams so it's just a handycam taped to the side of the helmet.

The camera "lies". The bend looks blind but really isn't, I saw him coming and had plenty of space.

It wasn't a time attack it's how I normally ride. The timer is added in post just for a fun comparison.

Yep, no right leg and I even had the rear brake removed totally! Disc, caliper everything... Couldn't use it anyway, so a god way to save some unsprung weight.

I've been thinking about something along these lines, and then I run across this...

I would have put a proportioning valve along the chassis and run the two lines off the front lever.

Not exactly "shedding weight" but you'll get some braking back.

There are solutions to the problem. There are ready made kits that allows you to use your thumb to control the rear brake.

But you get used to not having it. The brakes on this bike where the best money could buy at the time (same master cylinder as the GP500 roadracing bikes), so I didn't lack any stopping power.

The "track" is one of my favorites and I'm the current "recordholder" for SM as far as I know... ;)

Yep - no right leg and no rear brakes. Even had the rear brake removed.. I do have a license to ride a bike, but need to have it customized so I can access the rear brake. So technically I'm not allowed to ride this bike, no.

after going from my CBR954RR to a KTM520EXC supermoto i can safely say that on the right roads the supermoto is just plain easier to go fast on. i found that i could maintain much higher corner speeds on tighter turns with the lack of weight and usable power of the KTM. on anything a little bit open the sportbike will smoke the sumo, but it still won't be as fun to ride ;)

To be objective, was this the same rider on each bike, or riders of similar ability? Think this would be the only way to shut the sportsbike riders up a bit.

I have a KTM 525 SMR which absolutely flies!!! Hardest thing is keeping the front wheel down...not such a bad thing..lol

It's great isn't it, so many people claiming it's fake, but take it from someone who's gone from a GSX-R1100 to a KTM 640 SM, the KTM is faster because of the handling characteristics I can carry MUCH more speed into tight bends and it's much more flickable, anyone thinking it's fake, don't worry, sooner or later someone on a 640 LC4, 950SM, 525 SMR, or SuperDuke will show you, on your fave roads, everyone get's Duked sooner or later.. haha!

Yeah, I held the inofficell record on that piece of road for sometime and still do for SuperMotards. Then some dude came along on a CBR1000RR keeping way over 200km/h / 120mph on the straights. Mine is on the revlimiter at 165km/h / 103mph... The new record is just below 4min if I remember correctly.

I wonder why they think it's fake, wouldn't I have made it more exciting then? =)

Haha... that's also my experience. I live in Switzerland, at our small little roads in the mountains they don't have a chance with their Ninja's or R1 (whatever) against a SuMo Rider. So, they don't want to recognize it but it's always funny and interesting to hear and to discuss ;O) But... as said by somebody just on curvy/twisty roads.

Hey nice vid. I love my 640sm. I bought it to enjoy mountain roads, and was told it would monster sports bikes up there.. I thought hey lets not get carried away. But its true, its just perfect for twisty roads. Sure the rider is a factor, but its horses for courses. I am no hero, and it eats sportsbikes for brekky up there. Of course they pwn me on the straights ;)

I think there's a glitch or edited on the first run. try to pay attention the screen of zx6r then you'll see that the ktm move up already. thats anybody see that or just me.

Yes, there's a glitch in the beginning of the ZX6R vid. But it's only a 10th of a second or so.. The difference at the end is several seconds so it doesn't really matter, does it?
