The way Tsuchiya knew, that Tanner used the clutch kick technique to turn the car to the opposite direction, was because of the engine roar. You can hear the engine reving high at 4:07 and 4:08.

Foust's Scion drift car has over 650 horsepower.

Shelby GT500's are considered "Stock" unless they are modified afterwards (meaning, being tuned/modified after being bought from the retailer)

Where Foust's Scion has over 800 N·m of torque (as he said in another GTchannel's video), the stock Shelby GT500 has 650 N·m.

It's a huge difference. If Foust doesn't feel the 500hp, it's natural, because he's gotten too much used to driving a lot more powerful cars.

It might just be because of bad weather. I read an article about laps at Laguna Seca where they said the car was losing power because it was too hot so they couldn't cool the engine enough. I'm pretty sure it's because the engine's supercharged so it requires more cooling.

At least it looks pretty hot from the video.

In part one Gushi vs Tsuchiya isn't very fair. Tsuchiya was a top level GT racer for years and years, he even raced in Le Mans! I'm not sure who would have been a better match up, but there are tons of good drivers in the USA who would have been able to give Tsuchiya a real run for his money.

You see mainly Asian cars for fandom's sake, but any car can drift, including American & European vehicles. Yes, BMI is Japanese, but if they in Europe you'd feel the same way: Use cars made here as well. Not everyone is strictly a J-car fan.
