  • Yeah, this guy rocks!!!!!!!

  • Rocco sure has one hell of a future, talent for days...HUICHOL53.......

  • No doubt a talented young man..good luck to him....

  • Get over the image stuff - Rocco is 'indie' so that he can show up at a Starbucks without signing a bunch of legal papers issued by his record label just to play his music.

  • rip it up with that slide guitar and a dobro love rocco!!!!! huichol53........

  • listening to Rocco is like suckin on lemons...Sometimes you want the sweetness of lemonade and sometimes you just want to suck on the lemon.

  • fucking amazing.. black mans soul stuck in a white boys body

  • I never thought i'd hear or see Rocco playing at a fucking starbucks.....

  • i think this a very good performance. BUt, I don't know or get how anyone could compare to the old blues singers. On this, he misses the mark. He is accompished and polished, but their is the "soul"of the music missing. Like he is trying to get it, but you can't capture it, it just has to flow out of you. Good luck--you may get there. The music is simpler and purer--not sooo jazzed up with wild solos.

  • You absolutely miss the point of his music. He doesn't play the solos because he wants to be flashey. Deluca's work is brimming with emotion, and the solos are an outlet of the feeling behind his songs. Any intermediate guitar player can watch Deluca play and know that the solos aren't an effort to "jazz up" the music, and Deluca is capable of much crazier things than what you see in his videos. You have to look past the show and see the story he's trying to tell.

  • Distar, have you ever considered that you are the one who is missing the mark. Maybe (just maybe), the problem is all yours. Maybe the soul is flowing freely, but you are unable to capture it.

I love the old blues singers. But when they put out their music, the same things were said about them as you are saying about Rocco.

  • open to suggestions--I will listen again--that was first impression--I will listen again. As I said above, no doubt, he is an accomplished, talented musician.

  • See my latest post--didn't realize that I could respond directly. What old blues singers do you admire? I am just curious...

  • In no particular order:

Son House, Bukka White, Sister OM Terrell, Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, Billie Holiday, Big Foot Chester, Willie Dixon, Taj Mahal, Blind Willie Johnson, Albert King, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Koko Taylor

    That's a small sample.

  • @distar10 You fail to see how original and "pure" his approach is. You are an elitist asshole with you comparisons to the blues greats and how he'll never measure up. I for one am fed up with guys trying to ape the old masters. Clearly Rocco has his influences but he is an original and much more exciting than a white boy blues wannabe. By the way, what the hell have you ever done that has this depth? That's right, nothin'!

  • I still play the shit out of this performance .. it just kicks ass! You guys are awesome. Keep up the good work!

  • absolutely brilliant...there is no question that rocco delucca is the most unique artist to come out in the past few years...if u havent seen the documentary "I TRUST YOU TO KILL ME" i highly recommend it...rocco's a cool kat...poor kiefer lol

  • Check out Reverend Peytons Big Damn Band They're more of a delta boogie band, but its some good stuff.

  • someone can please tab this?someone knows if he use D open allways?

  • Most of his stuff is in open D. Learn some Son House, Lightning Hopkins, and Lead Belly to get this sound down right.

  • I think he also uses some open tunings.

  • other open tunings*

  • I saw him open for John Mayer last year at the gorge amphitheater in george washington, and i must say it was amazing. Ive been a fan for 2 years but never got to see him live, you gota do it if hes in your area. you wont regret a single moment of it!

  • Any one know what modle of dobro he is using? Exezct modlel

  • Aaah!! This is awesome.. Skin-crawling talent right there. I saw Rocco Deluca last year, opening for Lifehouse. It was pretty much one of the best live performances I've ever seen.

    *clicks to favorite* :]

  • he reminds me of jeff buckley less depressed though and i'm a big fan of jeff so two thumbs up awesome voice and music rock on..

  • God, he's like a modern day Robert Johnson with that voice.

  • Does anyone else get goosebumps?!

  • i saw him at bonnaroo, and will see him again in a couple weeks. great live power

  • I saw RDB open for Keane less than a month ago and I was blown away. I haven't heard such passionate and down and dirty rock n' roll in years.

  • shit yeah!

  • he gets better and better every day. by next year, he'll be untouchable and loaded with Grammys!
