I am looking to buy the HW100, is it that good, I have a Brocock Enigma 1.77 that does 5p groupings at 35yds. Would I get a much more accurate shot with this gun. Which pellets do you recommend. Excellent videos, great to watch. Does the poi raise or lower through charge like the Brocock.
I just got my first air rifle today its a cometa fenix 400, I was happy with it until i watched your videos and now im thinking i should of saved my money for a pcp.
which pcp air rifle would you recommend for a beginner ,The main criteria is that the air rifle must be as silent as possible so i can practice in my back garden. Any help would be much appreciated
HW100 has a regulator better than air arms s410 and a lot accurate.....the s410 has an inefficient valve and the shot to shot consistency is bad for a 314cc tube
@cubleycat - Your the best damn shot on youtube - period !! I dont care what the doubters and nay sayers may spout on the subject - if they are honest they'll admit like me that we wish we had the skill set and 'eye' for the target that you have .
some of us just cant cut the mustard at sub 12ft/lbs - and I would love it if you did some instructional videos with tips and advice for novice airgunners ( even us veterans have a lot to learn as well it seems )
A springer is not even in it's class. Ya want to hit the target don't you? Sure you can change the trigger if you already haven't, to improve the way the springer shoots.
nice shot, there nice guns, was debating on weather to get the hw100 or airarms s410 went for air arms in the end, still very accurate, nice looking walnut but is it as quiet as the weirauch? prob not. anyone got an idea? if it mkes a big difference ill get if its not worth it then theres not much point. wb thnx
the airarms s410 are one of the best rifles, the main thing that made me go for the HW100 is the mag is easier to load but it is an excellent gun. I bet you could fit a HW100 silencer to the AA maybe need an adapter!
ye i know what you mean sometimes it can be a bit awkward loading the pellets into the s410 but after a bit of practice you get used of it. . i asked which was best and they said its down to personal preference, there both in the top league of air rifles along with daystate, never tryed one before tho, on board chrono n count shot apparentley. ye cheers i looked around and found an unf adapter for it no need for cutting, myt give it ago next time im in the gun shop and hear the difference. thnx
Thanks. I still think its possible the pellet could go over the target because there is a point where the pellet goes over the LOS (line of sight) what do you think? PS did you have a look at the web site at arld1. com
pellets start dropping at about 25yd in order to hit a crow at 15yds with a scope zeroed at 25 you would have to aim high coz at 15yds the pellet is still rising to its 25yd zero therfor any shots at about 17yds or lower and 28yds or higher crosshair needs to be above target simple as
hi, im new to the hunting game. i have a hw100t, and a 6-24-50 mtc mamba scope. great cun and scope. problem is, when i zero in at 35yds, and lets say a crow lands in front of me at 15yds, my scope seems to be way off. and when i take a head shot, i miss!!! like i say i am new to this, and still finding my way. could anyone give me some pointers. cheers.
Hi, it is most likely that the pellet is going over the crow at 15yds, If you have set the scopes for 35yds they will be to high at short range. also go for a good pellet like JSB exact, I have tried many types and find those to be the best.
I am not sure ,my rifle has similar POI at 7yrds as 35yrds, the scope height is one factor pellet weight is another and lots more things affect the POI. The pellet will drop a lot at 35yrds so the aim would have to be quiet high relative to short range. Imagine throwing a stone long distance you would throw it up and it would drop down to your target efectivley traveling in an arch. if that makes any sense?
I see what your saying, yes a pellet rises and falls. However when it's leaving the muzzle at over 800 feet per second as in the case of my .177, I guarantee it's still rising to the POI at a 35 yrd zero!.....
It's not gonna start falling till a lot further than that, that's why rifles have the same POI at 2 ranges
In my defence I am dyslexic and the grey matter ain't what it used to be. LOL.
I will have to set some targets up at different distances and see what happens. I know the pellet passes through the same line of sight and it may depend on how high your scopes are mounted so the POI will vary with different setups. PS have a look at arld1. com its very handy
Hi 2430liney, just done a video "POI test. .22 HW100" to see what happens, have a look.remember a .22 will drop much soon than your .177 .Have a look at w w w arld1 com and look at demos 6 and 8.
Sportsmatch mount,3am...in the woodland next to the farm waiting for the rabbits to break cover and move into the field,,happy days now all i shoot is video,,lol

i want an HW100 really bad... they're so cool. and they're the only ambidextrous PCP for that kind of quality. how much did you pay for it?
AirgunAddict256 2 years ago
Top quality, no doubts. they cost £700 but I understand they are more expensive in the states.
cubleycat 2 years ago
whats the recoil like on the HW100? is it similar to a spring rifle?
gethresh 2 years ago
No recoil from a PCP at 12ftlbs
cubleycat 2 years ago
so there is no recoil whats so ever ? can you feel when you have shot the gun?
gethresh 2 years ago

ArmyBoy015 2 years ago 2

I have to disagree cubleycat. At short range, the pellet is still rising to meet the line of sight offered by the scope.....
Think about where the muzzle is and where the sight line of the scope is and what the pellet has to do to hit where you're aiming!...CLIMB!....
If the pellet was high at 15yds then your rifle would be VERY under powered and the pellet would be falling at the 35yrd zero
