@MrHasie I will pretty much try just about anything. PBR is OK for a macro, especially on a hot day. Back in the '80's I tried Falstaff and "Scotch Buy" (the generic beer from Safeway) and both of those were absolutely terrible. Cheers!
@AlexxSR Thanks. We do enjoy it but there's a lot of work involved. All the trees mean we are constantly picking up branches, pine cones and leaves. The house is a little older so some remodeling/updating will be needed in the next few years. Overall though, we really can't complain. Cheers!
@Perdoct No offense taken. I like PBR more than Natural Ice but it's just my opinion, not fact. Everyone likes different things and that's what's fun about beer.
@VideoBeerReviews yea everyone has the right to like what they want. I was just having a PBR when I watched this video, its not terrible does go down smooth.
After having Bud light and Corona Extra all weekend at my brother's house, it was nice cracking open a few PBRs with friends back home. Definitely more original than most adjunct (basura) American lagers.
@cbohar84 PBR is OK, as long as you don't drink a ton of it. I have no problem enjoying one on hot day. Drinking a six or twelve pack at once, however, is not recommended!
I love PBR! I don't care if you call me a hipster or not (although I do agree that a lot of hipsters drink Pabst), if I'm drinking cheap I'm drinking PBR
If those stores weren't 45 minutes away, I'd hit them up. They seem to have an excellent selection. I usually go to the Total Wine in Kennesaw, near Town Center Mall. It's huge!
Nice Video. I'd have to say me and my buddy love pabst too!! Great beer review. A funny side note at about 7:39 we both though that was a two foot marijuana plant.. But of course it isn't.. lol
@Twobudsbeerreview01 I don't know anything about a 2 foot plant. PBR is a decent macro beer but there are better craft beers out there for sure. Thanks for watching!
haha just kidding. I have watched all of your beer reviews and I enjoy them a lot! I've never been a big fan of PBR myself though. I think you should do a review of Fosters, a great beer.
@popwarskatemore7 Shh, don't tell anyone about my neighbor.....As for the beer, PBR is s decent warm/hot weather beer. I have reviewed Fosters, just search for it o my channel. Cheers!
@2cutthroatterrorist The Andre mug is one of my favorites. I've had him for 25 years. Sam Adams light is a pretty tasty beer, especially for a light beer.
@2cutthroatterrorist The beer was pretty good. Andre liked it. I don't remember seeing a Hulk mug but everyone knows Andre is better than the Hulk anyway! Cheers!
I wholeheartedly agree. It's great that a craft beer guy like you can appreciate this beer for what it is. pabst at my store runs 14.99 for a 24 pack of 12oz cans. can't beat that.
@Brian7490 Oh yeah, I'll give any beer a try and try to be as fair as possible with it. PBR is a decent macro lager. It's better than Bud for sure, plus it's less expensive. Thanks for watching!
@JoeHell67 Yeah, I've left that out of the last few Andre Videos. I do need to put that back in. Stay tuned for the next Andre review! Thanks for watching!
Man, i can not wait to get a house so i can do projects like this and drink king size beers..lol...We had a party back in college and the place we had it at gave us free beer, which was pabst blue ribbon. It was big bucket of like 200 of them and it was a crazy party.
@dechm4af Don't believe everything you hear about the "joy of home ownership", sometimes it's a real pain. Overall we like it but there's always something that needs to be done. But, drinking a king can after yard work is a nice reward sometimes.
Nice review...I'm going to review a classic baltimore beer "Natty Boh" National Bohemien. I've had it many times. Is it wonderful? Does it beat DFH? No..but if you have it really cold there's nothing offensive about it and it does feel good when you're thirsty...I feel the same way about PBR.
@beernoob Yeah, these types of beers are perfect fr those times when you want something refreshing and drinkable on a hot day. They actually have decent flavor and the price is right. Can't go wrong.
@joeplay101 I should do the bottle cap video in the next week or two so stay tuned. As for the Steel Reserve, that might be a while and I'm not making any promises, but I might do a reviewlater this Summer.
@TakeSomeAdvice Thanks! I try to give every beer a fair shot. Pabst is actually a decent beer. I'm not ashamed to say that I like it! It's not craft but it is fairly tasty and drinkable.
@VideoBeerReviews Yeah I can't stand it when people review a major adjunct lager and pretend they are choking on it and need to throw it out and give it a 1 star rating.
All hat happens in my eyes is they lose credibility as beer reviewers and I don't take them seriously after that.
Pabst is definately a decent brew, and it holds its ground when compared to the big three and its cheaper. Nice review, i love watching these beer reviews, hopefully you got some more 'bad" beer reviews on deck.
@ezpicker1 PBR is not bad at all, especially compared to many others in its category. I do have a few more King Can reviews planned so stay tuned. Thanks for watching!
had this last week for first time in about 15 or 20 years. thought it was good for what it is. more flavor than bud, miller & coors. its fairly cheap too. good lawnmower beer. Great video Mark. Bob Villa would be proud. lol
@MrGregPuckett Yeah, PBR is a very good lawnmower beer. It has more flavor than the BMC crowd. I'm no home improvement expert like Bob Villa but I can dig a damn good hole!
Man I know PBR isn't considered very good.... but I can't help but love having one on a hot day(just like you said) and it stays hot pretty much 3/4ths of the year down in Houston Tx.
@bunkernate I think, like @chad9976 commented earlier, that PBR has received a bad rap. It's actually a decent beer and well worth getting for those hot days when you want something ice cold and refreshing.
Man can!!! My friend Gabe wants to be the official spokesperson of PBR. He said it's not a pretty man's beer, and that's why he likes it. Crazy guy. It appears much darker than something like a Miller or Budweiser; or is that just you're camera? Been a long time since I had a PBR, my usual swill beer is Miller Lite.
@BitterPoetMadman Nothing beats 24oz of ice cold refreshment! PBR is a decent beer, much better to swill than Miller Light! You are right, the color is a bit darker than Bud, etc.
Man, I love your 'working around the house' videos. Very relateable, specially with the king cans of cheap lawnmower beer. I haven't gotten to PBR yet but it's highly requested. You should check out the 24 oz Bud Ice review I just uploaded... I'm sure PBR is 100 times better then Bud Ice. Cheers!
BTW, I'm lovin the 'This Old House' bonus material...
@Hog40305 Thanks! I figure if I have to do home maintenance duties I might as well drink a beer while doing them! I'm pretty inept when it comes to most mechanical stuff but I can do the basics pretty well, especially if it saves me money. I reviewed Natural Ice last year and it sucked, I'm sure Bud Ice is just as bad. PBR though is a pretty decent beer.
Man, you are ALWAYS working on something. Not a big fan of Pabst but it's decent. Had worse. BTW, I've been meaning to ask, where did you get that Andre The Giant mug. That thing is AWESOME haha.
@PhilliesPhorLife Yeah, it seems that there is always something to do around the house (the joy of home ownership). I got Andre at a K-Mart in Fort Collins Colorado way back in 1985! It is an awesome glass and I'll probably have it as long as I live.
Great review Mark, I always enjoy a cold PBR, it's one of the best 'bad beers' in my opinion, though i wouldn't really call it bad at all. Glad to see it made at least 3 mugs.
thanks for reviewing all beers and not just craft.
btw, that's some excellent DIY work on the drain. sounds like the foundation repair guys wanted to rip you off.
@adramatictheme Sometimes an ice cold beer is the perfect thing. PBR is a very decent beer. There's not much to it but it is tasty.
The drain seems to work great so far. I don't think the foundation guys were trying to rip me off, it's just that what they do (trench on the inside of the foundation) is expensive work. The guy actually suggested I try the outside drain first which was nice to hear.
I know it's not PC in the craft beer review world, but I love a frosted glass. Of course PBR is not a craft beer for sure. Don't you know that you'll never get rich from digging a ditch, but you will save $2900.00 bucks.
@CraftBeerDrinker Frosted glassware and PBR go perfect together. It is a pretty good beer, I wouldn't turn it down that's for sure. Yeah, digging holes isn't usually the profitable endeavor but in this case it did save me a bunch of dollars.
While I wouldn't say PBR is a good beer, I think its reputation of being a trash brew is cruel and unwarranted. I'd definitely take it over BMC any time. And it is good with BBQ food. We made beer brats with this and it went extremely well.
Is that a wheelbarrow or a plastic shopping cart? LOL
do you ever worry about those trees damaging the house if a hurricane rolls through?
@Chad9976 PBR is definitely drinkable and is better than many of the other macro brews.
It's actually a plastic wheelbarrow and works pretty good for basic yard work. Luckily we don't get a lot of wind, or Hurricanes, but I do think about what would happen if one of those trees came crashing down on us as we slept-No more beer reviews!
@Rabadamtimtimti I used to watch wrestling growing up and really enjoyed it. The last 25 years or so it has really gone downhill though. I don't watch it at all now. Pabst is an OK beer. It's not totally crappy and actually has some flavor.
Have you ever refused to drink a beer? I avoid this, even if it's free and all you can drink.
