  • How much do you recommend in a school and whats they're max size?

  • @XXGOLDENXXDRAGONXX for a school id say have at least 7. but as many as you can without overstocking is best, the more there are, the more comfortable they feel, thus making their immune systems stronger. They only grow to 2 inches

  • can you put bloodfins with cherry barbs? and what other fish do you recommend ?

  • @TheZeebby bloodfins would do great with cherry barbs, other fish that would go great with them are gold barbs, black skirt tetras, serpae tetras, ect. ect. pretty much any species of schooling tetras. Bloodfins are cool because they have a really long life span combared to other fish their size, bloodfins can live for 10 years!

  • How easily do they breed?

  • omg yours school so tight together

  • haha i have 9 bloodfins in a 10 gallon tank by themselves (except for a little bristlenose pleco). They school around its so cool

  • PLEASE HELP i got a 20 gal planted tank a week ago and its great in all but i might have new tank sindrome. i never cycled it because the lady at petsmart said i just needed 24 hours for temp. so i set it up and the next day i got 8 small fish then the next day i got 5 or 6 more. these include a mollie, 6 neon tetras a few danios and a dwarf gurmani. over the last few days i have had 6 casualties. am i doing something wrong? the water test was good when tested at the store. thanks!

  • @zunedog31 don't listen to petsmart. add 3-4 max hardy cheap fish for at least 4 weeks to start the bacteria process (nitrogen cycle). then add 3 more fish each week until you have max 20 inches of fish in there (consider adult size). Basically your fish are really stressed and there's too much bad things in your water. Try to find a professional fish store that only sells fish. They can help u

  • @bloodfinbeast well everything went well after the first week or so. i have tons of fish and havent had anymore casualties lol! i actually never lost a bloodfin, the tank is great, you acn see them on my channel!

  • @zunedog31 haha good for u

  • @zunedog31 overstocked

  • @sLyone777 ha ha!

  • these fish are cool! and they even school with my neon tetras!

  • dude, giant danios!!! those are hyper little guys. I had 5 giant danios in my first 37 gallon tank, only 1 died, and its been a year and a half now. Strong guys, they earned a spot in my tank

  • do you know of anybody trying to put these with things like clown loach's? or other bigger tank mates?

  • @ZombieSlayer762 yes you can keep them with clown loaches and other medium to large size fish as long as they aren't aggressive. The largest fish ive kept these guys with were Firemouth cichlids, Severums, and a few Geophagus species (Geophagus Surinamensis and Geophagus Altifrons) but there are lots of fish that can work. if you want to know if you can keep bloodfins with any other specific fish, just let me know

  • @BingX14

alright thanks, i was wondering because i have had bad experience with small fish in the past, i had 1 tiger barb with a red tail shark in the same tank and the tiger barb killed the shark...

    thank you,

  • @ZombieSlayer762 no problem. and woah...the tiger barb killed the red tailed shark? thats weird i would have quessed that the shark killed the tiger barb any day lol i have an adult red tailed shark thats about 5-6" and hes probably the most aggressive fish in the tank lol. my tank has changed a hell of a lot since this video but my camera is broken so i havnt been able to upload a new vid for a while

  • @BingX14

yeah i couldent really believe it either...

just got 9 blood fins yesterday, have them in a 55G gonna add some clown loaches and upside down cat fish later. if i had a camera i would post a video. haha

  • do you know of anybody trying to put these with things like clown loach's? or other bigger tank mates?

  • good tank. I have 5 of those in my 20 gallon tank. I wish I had room for a bigger tank.

  • thanks, yeah they're a cool little fish

  • nice additions the tank looks great

  • thank you yeah i like bloodfins their bright red fins look great over the black gravel and they school really nicely. A great addition to any community tank
