The beauty of these shows is that they demonstrate a difference in styles and techniques. The American IPMS "best of show" style with over-the-top weathering and pre- and post-shading is not the only way.
Well, I often 'hand brush' WWII interiours as it resembles the actual (often messy) paint jobs. Especially these crates, ones that have been operational for a while (Late war for instance when they didn' t care about stuff like that too much.) or onces that are stationed in 'rough climate' conditions... But I'm curious what he'll do with the exterior... :-)
He is a comic artist. Therefore he deeply attachs to a painting brush. And this theme is brush painting. He says that brush painting matches Zero fighter.
damn purists thinking there is only one road in a journey. just because they cant do something a certain way they think its wrong. and tell me what kid builds models anymore? cant even buy em at walmart maybe if they make a video game about model building there will be a bunch like what happened with guitar hero
damn for your age seems you would know better than you do. that is a very ignorant statement you made. i do both techniques and lean towards brush painting more. the only difference is the time it takes. brush painting can take much longer than airbrushing.
Actualy on some of the REAL Zero they did. This fellow is just trying to represent the zero as painted in the field. Now go on and airbrush your zero put it in a comp next to his and see how it is judged. Personally i will go for the roughly painted zero as it is more true to its REAL appearance.Smoothly painted zero=Toy-like. but of course this is just my own personal taste. and of course your entitled to yours.
Good insight into building this model . What is the white powder added to paint @04.7 please and why ? Thank you .

He's replicating the real interior paint jobs of late war Zero's. They where SLOPPY.
You might have been modeling for 30 years, but you sure dont know how to model accurately.

These are the kind of shows they need to broadcast in the USA. Enough with the E! Channel, the Travel Channeland ESPN 2, 3, 4, 5......
Oh yeah, you can also take American Idol and throw that out the window as well.

Real zero interiors were handpainted, he is saying brushes suit the model better.
