HE is my HERO,"Blessed are the Peace Maker`s,for they shall be called the Children of GOD"....& as for someone like Custer ??? MURDER in there Heart`s,if they had one !
I recently composed and completed a song about this great Chief, contact me if you want the link to hear it. I was touched by his story and moved when I visited the grave. Such a great man should have a monument.
May the Great Spirit hold you in his light and shine it on your people.
At the headstone of Chief Joseph, I put a military coin..it was from 1-21 INF.(Gimlets) They were the first Army unit to fight the Nez Perce and almost get massacred at Whitebird Canyon. I don't think the coin is there anymore. Someone may have taken it. And Yellow Wolf is not far from Joseph's plot...about 20 ft away.
@ndnsoldierboy I have heard the Tribal Authorities store the tributes on occasion... I have left a few myself... When you get back I hope you'll point out his resting place and tell me what you know about him... Stay in touch eh...
Thank you for taking us there. I, too, was awesomely surprised to see where you had taken us, and would have liked to have seen the artifacts in detail. Thank you, so glad you did this :)
oh, I was thinking along the lines of 'being there'... :D
mmm, depending on the editing program used..FYI my editing software Vegas allows me to zoom in on footage (but that doesn't always do it justice)... regardless, twaz wonderful :)
Another quality Stu production.. Beautiful, yet haunting.. Would have loved to have walked there with you, if only possible! Thank you for taking me there! (Yt time is still limited, but I'm keeping an eye on your posting and will catch up.. fear not!)
That was amazing to see Chief Joseph's grave. We were struck by the amount of boarded up and abandoned houses. Do you have any idea how the population has changed there over the years? Has the number of those who inhabit the rez declined that significantly, or have they simply abandoned the older structures in favor of newer ones?
Actually Native American populations including these tribe have soared! Now some tribes have gone the way of the last Mohican but they struggle financially which is reflected in their dwellings..
Wow! It really looked like a face in the tree from afar! That was ominous and thank you for taking us to Chief Joseph. Thos lost houses looked haunted with ole memories, of sunsets gone by... "little ones' singing, laughter and play echo round..."
There are many things which do not show in the video... Artifacts and carvings on the gourd and things on the ground which just did not come through on the video... I wish everyone could have seen everyting...
How incredibly moving. I did not expect to see Chief Joseph's tomb, and when I did, it really blew me away. What an incredible tribute, and pilgrimage. Now I know I must go there someday.
It was a unique experience to walk up to his resting place... The artifacts of tribute were amazing... As much as I wished to examine them closer I could touch nothing...
This powerfully moving, Pappy. Brought tears to my eyes! Pappy you born to make videos such as these. Please don't stop. These are people whose stories must be told. Be
