Ce documentaire de collectionneur (comme je le suis aussi dans le même domaine, mais beaucoup plus modestement) de phonographes depuis le cylindre d'Edison, et avec notamment cet étonnant double cornet, est PASSIONNANT.
Oh my God!! I'm dying! I know how he feels. If I had it to do, my house would filled with those beautiful machines. I love to look at different models of phonographs and see how the industry changed and changes. My old job had microfiche of repair/parts manuals of the old machines, I used to look at them constantly and learn a little more.
Thanks for posting this interview! Well produced and interesting.
The collector featured in this interview wrote a great book on the earliest tinfoil phonographs. It is very detailed and well written. Phonograph collectors and anybody interested early audio technology should own this book.
Is that the same guy that held a roll that broke in direct broadcast?

The cylinder one is the Phonograph and the disk one is the gramophone. I hate it when people get it wrong
Kashito91 4 years ago
That is not compleatly right. Phonograph is a name over both.
