This was originally produced for "THE BOING BOING SHOW", UPA's 1956-'57 "showcase" for their previous theatrical cartoons- and new material (including this entry)- that aired on CBS' Sunday afternoon schedule [in black and white], and repeated in prime-time in the summer of '58.
I read about this in Leonard Maltin's old book "Of Mice and Magic!" Mel Leven did the muic for some early 1960s Disney films, too. "101 Dalmations", "Babes In Toyland".
