  • well douche bag you are dead wrong about the money scam there would be no way to put those three books into one book you are a FN moron.

  • Also, have you reread the books? Because a lot of your theories would be better if you tried that...

  • Sanderson took the same amount of money to finish it even though he realized it couldn't be packed into a single book. Also, in regards to your response to @sickofu100 is wrong. Jordan said in an interview "there are spokes of the Wheel where people are not aware of the True Power, such as ours for example." Also, Olver cannot be Gladial Cain because he is too old. Also, you just seem pretty dumb in general, sadly.

  • If any writer in the future, ever manages to create something better or grander than WOT - I'm convinced it'll be Robert Jordan reborn.

  • I love Robert Jordan (James Oliver Rigney, Jr was his real name) for what he created, but the last few books were unnecessary and could have been compressed alot, Sanderson thankfully cut lots of the bloat. However he uses more modern-time diction with characters that can be a bit jarring and take you out of the story (ie, crazy homicidal mountainfolk). But he's doing a great job, I think. Can't wait for the final book, but also sad for it all to be over after 20+ years!

  • This book was well worth the read, and with Sanderson's style it's much easier to keep track of what's going on. With the previous books I would forget what happens, getting lost in a sea of descriptions where everything is "gilded" and "embroidered". It was great, though, but this more straightforward pace is refreshing.

I don't think this was a money scam, though. Sanderson writes less per chapter than Jordan does, and yet the page count is still up to 800. It's just a long story.

  • jaim farstrider (and damnit i dont know where in the serise that got fucked up, but its JAIM farstrider, not JAIN farstrider, wtf)

  • @kght222 btw just wistful thinking, just hate that he has a girls name =P. its JAIM damnit =P its not like that name doesnt exist in randland.

  • You're obnoxious. O_O Don't use swear words, it makes you seem stupid, and your intelligence is all you have going for you.

  • @TheRockyBach thank you

  • @TheRockyBach

    fuck you

  • I skipped straight to the theories. And I laffed. OLVERCAIN!

  • I watched about 15 seconds of this video before i got tired of Dwight Schrute

  • Whatever anyone says all i know for sure about theories is this. You read that last bit when Rand is going through that shit in his mind and comes to an understanding about you know who and that person being reborn as well. I guarentee thats Elayne but what your saying actually makes sense too which is why he is with all three. So whether its all three or just Elayne doesnt matter i just no 100% that she is definatly.

  • Whatever anyone says all i know for sure about theories is this. You read that last boit when Rand is goign through that shit in his mind and comes to an understanding about you know who and that person being reborn as well. I guarentee thats Elayne

  • wtf are you doing with your hands?

  • i think your alright. fuck all those other dipshits. keep up the good work.

  • I wish Moiraine was in the Tower of Ganja.

Aside from the Finns, Mat and Thom would have a good time there.

  • asmodeon will probably make ishmael as powerful as the Aes Sadai by Tarmon Gai'don.

  • jordan said that olver wasn't gaidal.also three become one might mean ishmael ,rand and lews because their all in rand's head after the last book.all in all you have some good theories.big fan of the deries for over 20 years

  • You're a douche, It's not money gathering! If you were a WOT fan worth your salt, you'd understand that Brandon, through his faithfulness to the source material left by RJ, couldn't finish it in one book. Take a look at his website and the explanations regarding physical book size limitations etc. On another note - your reviewing style needs work. This is not a review as much as a mass of theories. Just saying. Love that you love the Wheel, though.

  • Comment removed

  • The other 14 books were part of Tom Dougherty playing a hand in milking the TOR cash cow for all it had. Tom And RJ became millionaires over the past two decades and the overly devoted WOT fans who can't fathom this are easily disillusioned. It's business and no one is going to walk away from money. Rigney wrote many books before WOT - When he hit the right combination of plot and characters he and TOR went to the bank.

I don't care how Sanderson explains it - he is getting paid well.

  • @alwaysopen No doubt he is being compensated accordingly. It's an enormous undertaking. I don't for one moment deny that RJ became a very wealthy man. Why does that automatically mean he was drawing out the series on purpose to make more money? If you want to be a cynic, then that's fine. But it's hardly an air tight argument.

  • @alwaysopen

And dude, if I'm disillusioned, then it means I'm not idealistic, or free from illusion. Which would mean I would have lost any false ideals about someone or something. Which would mean I agree with you. Which I don't. So if you want to be condescending, perhaps check your thesaurus first.

  • @Leeso54

    ok...?

  • @Leeso54

    Check Uranus first.

  • wait i thought slayer was lan's cusin not uncle arnt there fathers brothers

  • Sorry about that, Isam is Lan's cousin, not his Uncle. Whoops!

  • Slayer is both Lan and Rand's Uncle. Rands uncle threw Tigraine, Tig and Luc being brother and sister. Lan's uncle because Isam's father was brother to Lan's fathter. Also, Galad is Rand's half brother!

  • His nephew is Rand. One of the two ppl that comprise slayer is Tigraines brother. Tigraine is Rand's real mother.

  • A few tips for you:

-Tone down the dramatics, it distracts from your review

-Duct tape your hands to the chair, they distract from your review

-Lose the profanity, it distracts from your review

-Do more review and less summary, it distracts from your review

-Kick the cougher out of the room, it distracts from your review.

-Buy a thesaurus ("parallelities" is not even close to being a word)

Other than those few items not a bad attempt. Keep practicing and you'll get there.

  • I don't think it would be Alludra going with Mat and Thom because the later from Morraine says that it will be Mat, Thom, and "another man" who will come.

  • According to Robert Jordan himself, Olver is not Gaidal. Time flows slower or faster the world of dreams, but it doesn't flow backwards. He would have had to have been spun out 10 years prior to when we last saw him in the world of dreams. Not possible. Gaidal is about 1 year old.

  • luc's nephew is Rand, Luc is Rand's mom brother, his other half is Isam which is Lan's brother

  • Nope, sorry but I already know someones already commented, but hell, why not eh.

Jorden has already dismissed it saying that the timing is well outside of Oliver being Gaidal Cain.

  • Upon careful consideration, I can totally understand why Brandon Sanderson split A Memory of Light for good reason. There was way too much that needed to happen that could have been summed up in one single volume. Brandon Sanderson did an incredible job with The Gathering Storm, and I cannot wait for Towers of Midnight.

  • Your voice is so annoying i cant be arsed to listen to you waffle. Sound like Stephen Hawking with a lisp.

  • Ya need to read more dragmount :>

  • @Sickofu100 yeah thats not too farfetched reallly, see in a way that is what happened. The current WoT world is really a post-apocolyptic world set in the aftermath of this period called the Age of Legends. In the Age of Legends there was machinery and science in many ways more advanced then our own. So kind of and kind of not...

but you should read The Shannara series by Terry Brooks, your idea of a fantasy world being our own in the future is exactly that in Brooks' Shannara.

  • @TwoNNsB Actually, it is our world. It is a "Wheel" of time. There are 7 ages in the wheel, one of which is ours. If I remember right, our age is the one before the Age of Legends (the First Age). Though our age could very well be the one 5 ages past the one in the books (which would be the first age again), or it could be the seventh age. Who knows?

  • i read all the books however, the 3 being one "theory" is far fetched, and stop waving ur hands around when u talk so much rofl.

funny u left out a alot tho, for example, ur prediction on how the natioins will come together, how rand is gonna make peace with the sean chan or if hes gonna go to war with them on his heels, if rand is really suspose to bow before the empress like the seanchan seem to belive. theres many more but i got work tommorow no time to rant. pce out.

  • your a twat

  • @nicholasbarnes thank you

  • Even if Moraine was stilled, Nyneave could heal it. that was discovered I think in book 7( Might be wrong though).

  • I thought that Olver would be Gaidal Kain. I hope Lan doesn't die, but that was the impression i got in Min's viewing. All in all i fucking love the series and i'm dreading a Harry Potter LOTR repeat fiasco for the movie. Hopefully they will get some sense and realise that this story was never meant to be seen, only imagined.

  • @Simwillb Thanks and I totally agree, they should just let a good thing lie and leave the books as books.

  • i thought the same about olvier

  • I always thought that Slayer is> Lord Luc, Brother of Tigraine. And Isam of Malkier. And when he says nephew and the wench means Rand and Min because Rand is the son of Tigraine

  • @NinjaLill yeah you;re right, I just got it fudged up in my head.

  • Man, you really need to read the glossary so you can pronounce the words without much difficulty. The slayer is two people Isam(Lans cousin) and Luc(Rands uncle) It was Rand and Elayne(or maybe Min) he tried to kill. They switch personalities whenever needed. It's Rand on the funeral bier too but he isn't dead. "To live you must die" that means that Rand must pretend to be dead to live. Aside from that your theories are sound. I haven't really read the new book yet. I am looking forward to it.

  • I'm not even going to start about the pronouciations. They're not important.

GREAT theory about the three becoming one.

and what do you think is giong to happen with the empire and tuon and her relationship with mat? cause it's clear that though he loves her, she looks at the marriage as clearly diplomatic.

  • @AzulaGrondin yeah thanx for understanding bout the pronunciations everybody else has already given me hell.

Well, I think Tuon has started to genuiely care for Mat, though of course she won't admit it. I think Mat might become a full member of the Seanchan court just to be with her after the Last Battle or Tuon might be killed in some tragic way (regretfully). I haven't give this much thought but those are my predictions.

  • @TwoNNsB I don't know about Tuon dying but Matt will certainly lose one of his eyes. One of his answers from the Aelfinn was "To lose half the light of the world to save the world". Egwene also dreamed of Matt dicing with blood flowing down his face. From one of his eye sockets. Lastly when Min was looking at him she saw a vision of a balanced scale with an eye and the world. I figured Rand would also lose a hand from a vision Min saw of Elayne of a bloody hand on book 2 and I was right.

  • @MrLimsky83 You know...I never even considered that, but when I think about it, it does sound like somethig RJ would do. We'll have to wait til October 26th to find out.

  • @TwoNNsB I am on only on book 7 so far, but I came here to hear your opinion on Sanderson, and it seems like you enjoy him. Anyone who is fan enough to read the many thousands of pages in the WoT series probably wouldn't sugar coat it if the new guy was terrible, so this video has made me glad and eager to continue on reading

  • @Fa1nTy

hey never a problem and thanks for the comment. just wanna say Keep reading and don't give up on the series because I myself found books 8-10 were very long and drawn out, but 11 and 12 are amazing enough to make up for it. If you didn't know, book 13, Towers of Midnight, is being released October of this year.

  • Bro, nothing against your videos, or you're predictions, but you need to learn to pronounce your WoT names =) Even if you don't know the proper way of saying things, at least come up with your own way and say it with conviction!

  • Someone's probably already mentioned this but: Isam (the other part of Slayer) is Lan's COUSIN. Rand, however, is Luc's nephew. Luc is Tigraine's brother. And, as Rand figured out for himself in book 6, Tigraine is his mother.

  • @tronzero yup you're about the 5th one to tell me that, but thanks anyway for taking the trouble to check.

  • Gadal Kain is almost surely not Olver due the the fact that GK was seen in the dream world after Olver would have had to be born. GK can't be more then 1 year old.

Slayer is two people in one. One of them is Isam and he is Lan's cousin

Alludra maybe going to the Tower but I am putting my money on Jain Farstrider

Avienda killed Asmodean, Demandred brought the defenders of the Blight to Andor and is the head of the white tower guard and Graendal is not dead and i doubt Sammael is either.

  • Alright all your theories are sound (my money's still personally on Aludra) but Avienda killing Asmodean?! That's unbelievable and wouldn't be that great of a plot twist.

  • Well at first I thought so but and I put most of my money on Graendal. But read that part where Asmo dies against the only people by him are Matt and Avienda she see's him going into the the pantry. Maybe Moraine told her he was one of the Forsaken

  • So what do u think about the 3 becoming one prophecy?

  • I was intrigued. it makes sense to me man And I don't think I've heard anyone say that.

Go throw it up on the WoTWiki or Theoryland see how it holds up against the masses.

  • @sagadestiny Olver is Gaidal. You're forgetting that time flows differently in the world of dreams. Seconds may be come hours or Hours days in the world of dreams. Even Birgitte probably knows. When Olver disappeared in Ebou Dar she said that if anything happened to Olver she would die or something like that.

  • @MrLimsky83 Time does flow differently but that has nothing to do with my point. We saw Gaidal in book 4 I believe and When Matt meets Olver he is older not sure how much but at least 5. So there was only a few months pass in the awaking world and at this time Olver WOULD HAVE HAD TO BE ALIVE Ergo Gaidal does not equal Olver. GK cannot be more then 1

  • @sagadestiny Olver is about 11 when Birgitte was told by Elayne that she could find Gaidal she said theres no way telling whether Gaidal is still a baby or a boy of ten. She also said Gaidal is always older than her. Olver is also like Gaidal in the way that he is Unattractive and short. He is also learning the use of a plethora of weapons from Matt and his soldiers from swords, knives, bows etc. I think theres no doubt that he is Gaidal.

  • What a fukin shame Rj didnt finish his life's work himself. He had 20 damned years! A slight in judgement? And I cant stand this fkin 12th book! And for those of you who think the decsion to split the final book into 3 isn't about money, go fuk yourself! Cause it clearly is! RJ, you really fuked up in not finishing this book before you carked it. And so, the Wheel of Cupidity earns and earns.

  • Well, personally, I like the fact that we now have 3 extra books to read rather than just one final novel, and we're gonna get them in relatively short time. Brandon recently said on his fcbk that he had only 12 more chapters of Towers of Midnight til he was finished.

  • I think the three becoming one are the powers. And I don't think alurda is the third person to go with mat I think it's the little boy or it might be the old man cuz he has this knives he always touches. Tell me what u think

  • the third person to go with Matt to the Tower of Genji is the old story telling dude Noal, who is Jain Farstrider himself. They said so in the books

  • I think Noal/Jain is a little too obvious, he'd be exactly who you would expect to go. I think Aludra is the one.

What book does it say Noal/Jain goes in?

  • They split it into three novels not for a money scam, but because it'd be too insanely large to put in stores. The gathering storm is like 800 pages, roughly, the others are most likely going to match it in pages. When you look at the hard cover of the book, it's a thick goddamn book, then you x that by 3. It'd just be to large. The fans are also very eager for the books - we'd have to have waited another 3 years before we got to read it.

  • Great predictions. On the 3 becoming 1 issue. Three becoming one, wouldn't that be considered a MERGE, not a split? True, Jordan mentioned that souls could not split, but consider Padan Fain's background, and Luc and Isam...

  • well your three become one is completely wrong....souls cannot split

i think it would make sense if it saidin, saidar and the true power. Saidin - Narishima. Saidar - Nynaeve True Power - Rand

  • Yup, I didn't know before I made this about Soul's being unable to be split.

Ur theory makes sense, and there's a lotta 3's in WOT that could become one. Guess we gotta wait for November to find out!

  • @TwoNNsB whats in november?

  • Towers of Midnight, book 13 and sequel to TGS is planned to be released.

Then, November 2011, A Memory of the Light, the 14th and final book is slated for release.

    I'm pumped!

  • sweet

  • Interesting theorys, all of them, but I have to disagree with almost all of them. Matt, Thom and Jain Farstrider seem like the most apparent trio to go into the Tower. About the three becoming one, that would be impossible since Min has a viewing of them standing over a grave after the end of everything, and let's not forget that Mins viewings of Rand's other girls prego. It could either mean the powers converging as one, or the reunion of Matt Rand and Perrin. Who knows?

  • Intresting theories, for sure.

    Also, great rewiev!

  • I think the Callandor prophecy thing has to do with the circle.. I'm thinking with Rand, Cadsuane, and Alivia.. Min had a viewing that Rand needed Cadsuane and that Alivia would help him die.. so maybe that's what that is.

  • 1. ROBERT JORDAN HIMSELF said Olver is not Gaidal Cain so there goes that.

    2. Aludra WILL NOT be the third person going to Ghenji because Moiraine specifically says "and a third man i do not know" in her letter to Thom...MAN not woman. Most believe this will be Noal Charin AKA Jain Charin AKA Jain Farstrider. The fire will be Mat using Aludra's flints.

    3. Your blade of light theory is incorrect because once again ROBERT JORDAN HIMSELF said a soul cannot be split. So there goes that.

  • 1 and 3: I've never read a RJ interview so I was unaware of both.

and 2) I'm quite sure Moiraine said 'person' not 'man', but lemme relook over KOD to find out.

  • I would disagree that it's a "money scam" to stretch it into 3 books. There were financial decisions involved, for certain (i.e. the costs of publishing a monumentally HUGE book wouldn't be recovered unless they sold it for a price that readers would be unwilling to pay all at once). Plus, the fans that have been around for so many years don't want to see corners cut.

I was upset with the change at first, but now I'm grateful for it.

  • Great review dude........... I hope you are right about Aludra.. Remember the only way to win at "Snakes and Foxes" is to cheat! Also.. Schuffles is right about Lord Luc/Slayer he is Rand's Uncle. Luc's sister was Tigraine Damadrod Rand's mother. Rand is the nephew he has to kill... But who is "the girl" ? Any thoughts?

  • @markmtk yeah you're both rite, somehow I missed the fact that Luc is Rand's uncle. When i thought Luc/Slayer was LAN's uncle I figured it was Nynaeve but if it's not her...I'm stumped.

  • @markmtk

    Elayne

  • nice review.ive been thinking the three becoming one might be saidar, saidin and the true power...anyhow i guess we wait till fall of 2010 to find out..

  • yup, wish it'd come sooner....

  • I think the 3 becoming one is Rand, Lews Therin, and Mordin

  • @sreski yeah I think that's possible, but I really think that's too obvious. There's lot's of threes in the Wheel of Time, and that's one of them, but I honestly believe that Min, Elayne and Aviendha will become one. Somehow.

  • DUDE!!! Right on with the theories and the review itself. Just finished the book and gotta say, I like all ur theories... and yes... the wait was near unbearable. Anyway, you rock, dude! Good stuff.

  • Some of it would make sense but it wouldn't be that obviouse on some of the things you said.

Also how you said Rand cut Asmodean form the source, but if i remeber he didnt. i believe it was lanfear that shielded him so that he could teach Rand. For a while till he died at Caemyln right after he killed Rhavin, right?

  • @lavenbp

I'm not sure if i said Rand cut Asmodean off from the source or not, but if i did that isn't what I meant:

Rand used a blade of light, to sever asmodean's connection to the dark one, therefore, it made it so Asmodean was not shielded from the taint of saidin any longer.

Sorry bout the confusion but that's what I meant.

  • also the thing with Slayer:

    Slayer is Luc + Isam

    Isam is Lan's COUSIN

    Luc is Rand's UNCLE

so it's not Lan he was after, it was Rand

  • @schuffles

I say Perrin gets to Slayer before he can wreak havoc anywhere.

  • jordan has said time and time again in interviews olver is NOT gaidal cain

  • I agree with your theories about Mat/Thom/Aludra, and about Lan, and the "three becoming one".

    great review!

  • Hey thanx for watchin and commentin, I appreciate it!
