  • "THIS IS THE 1 OF THE BEST/ CREATIVE SONGS EVER MADE......2 TIMES FOR NAS AN PREMO..........from the south......WE JAMMED THIS..........THEY SHOULD A MADE A VIDEO FOR IT......"

  • Nas ++ PREMO = REAL Hip Hop from the 90s.

  • there's a fan made music video now. just in case your imagination is cut short.

  • listen to this after you smoke a fat sack

  • I agree, This album is my Fav Nas Joint

  • man i play this track at least once a day, one love for the greatest

  • this was in no way better than illmatic

  • I am biased as hell towards Nas when it comes to New York Hip-Hop. I know I'm a DJ and shit, but I make no bones about it, and Jay and BIG, the times I've interviewed them on the radio, they know that shit. LOL. Especially BIG. BIG would give me that look when I interviewed him on the radio and told him how I favored Nas and he would be like, "What the fuck you just say nigga"? LOL. Oh, I miss that nigga. RIP BIG.

  • @lildwayne21 You used to interview Jay and BIG, when your name is "lildwayne?" Don't troll.

  • See this is why I fuck with Nas. He creates thought provocative shit that makes a nigga think. He's deep. Real niggaz can relate to that shit. You get a day off from grindin', you in the crib chillin', you smokin' a blunt, and yo niggaz ain't called yet to tell you what you're doin', or that pussy hasn't come through yet to break you off. You don't have any plans made right? Just put on some Nas when you're alone & start chillin'. Smoke so good to this shit when the phone rings you're like damn.

  • Damn, this was some real instrospective shit.

  • sick ass songs

  • this that shit that move crowds...

  • what year is this

  • @OpenTwoEyez This was 1996 bay

  • Nas the greatest rapper from the east, pac the best from the west (tho he was born east he moved to the west young and he started rapping on the west coast so his influences weren't from the east like Nas - Kool G Rap)

Imho It was written better then the illmatic, illmatic is a huge classic but this Nas style way harder, I gave you power, Affirmative action, take it in blood huge classic

Every Nas album after illmatic was underrated, Hip Hop Is Dead the most underrated Nas album.

  • Hah I like how he sang a whole song from a gun's perspective

  • Yeah, I personally like this album too better than Illmatic. Prolly can tell by my username, but boht albums are classics. Dis song is just dumb hot. Too creative!!! He also do a song where he a Jail Cell off Nastradomus album called "Last Words"

  • Its crazy how he tells this story that he is a gun.....fucking amazing.

  • Second best song ever. (First is One Love.)

  • from a guns point of view... nas is a genius

  • too smooth....too intelligent...just tha all around greatest

  • lil wayne who?

  • @kpdangerous who da hell is lil wayne?

  • i like it was written more than illmatic. No doubt illmatic is perfect but some of these tracks on IWW are my favorite of all time.

  • How u like me now, I go Blaowwww...

  • GENIUS.

  • who makes nas' beats?

  • @IndigenousEmcee In this album: Trackmasters, Dj Premier, L.E.S...

  • @MarcioFilhoMs thanks, i sounded kinda stupid but every song nas has he has a sick beat to go with his lyrics

  • @IndigenousEmcee You're welcome! One of my favorite rappers of all time!

  • Where is the NYC rap scene anymore ? Wu, Nas, Mobb...all of 'em are gone. It's a fuckin crime.

  • Nas is the backwood, and Premier is the marijuana.

  • i like how nas dropped out of school in grade 8 and he has the sickest lyrics i' ve ever heard in my life

  • 2Pac bite this to make a shitty song.

  • @SundiataOfMali 2pac came out wit this before nas did and and dis bum nigga nas he had 1 hot album but 2pac whiped his ass wit these weak pussy ass nyc niggas u feel some sort of way I'll meet u where ever and stomp you face in wit chuck taylors on nas tryed to copy pac life and he still do tupac tributes because he not build like dat althow he wish he was dis lil nigga nas think he live like me

  • @MIKEJF20 below "k" and below "l" on your keyboard you'll find the comma and the period. you should try them out sometime.

  • I like it was written better

  • 15 YEARS LATER ITS STILL CLASSIC

  • best song on the album mo of course.

  • ILLMATIC BETTER THAN THIS ALBUM... ILLMATIC IS ONE OF THE BEST RAP ALBUMS EVER MADE!

  • first time i heard this, i was trippin for like 2 weeks had it on repeat...now it sounds tight as it used to

  • first time i heard this i was blown away....

  • What would Hip-Hop be without Premo? Imagine That.

  • NIGGAS CANT HAVE FUNNY THATS WHY hip HOP IS VACATIONing HE COME BACK SOMETHING WENT ALBUM LIKE DISTANT RELATIVES raw footge is out ANGOLA PIPS

  • NIGGAS CANT HAVE FUNNY THATS WHY hip HOP IS VACATION HE COME BACK SOMETHING WENT ALBUM LIKE DISTANT RELATIVES raw footge is out

  • this was the best album of 96, better than Reasonable Doubt... but you on one if you think its better than Illmatic.

  • Damn i could picture all of this in my head haha.

  • Listen, this song is not made for the radio people, nas made this shit for the streets..... this shit is to grimey for the radio

  • hi nas my name is david call me 781 937 0200

Bump this muthafucka in your car, in your class, in front of your bitch ass teachers, in front of the fucken pigs, raise awareness of underground hip-hop cuz bitch ass individuals don't know what real rap sounds like cuz they never had it

  • the greatest lyricist ever and the greatest writter and word from word rapper ever

  • i was talking about hip-hop with some guys for some days ago, then i started to talk about nas and they didn't knew who he was? WTF. what happend to the world?

  • @hunterdwarf0

    Man...if they didin't know who is NAS, then U wasn't talking about hip-hop ;)

  • you know youre a monster if you spit like you were a gun. seriously. how the fuck do you do that?

  • @ramafia09 lol its a metaphor

  • i hate wen guns jam spcecialy wen its on

  • Somebody stomped him out, his dome was achin

He placed me on his waist, the moment I've been waitin

My creation was for blacks to kill blacks

It's gats like me that accidentally, go off, makin niggaz memories

But this time, it's done intentionally

He walked me outside, saw this cat

Cocked me back, said, "Remember me?"

He pulled the trigger but I held on, it felt wrong

Knowing niggaz is waiting in hell for 'im

  • gonna open up my own damn radio station and play all the shit that aint popular. Old school no one listens to anymore and new unknown artists people sleep on cuz they aint commercial like K. Sparks

  • @The1JAY2 NOW THATS WHADDDUP, I WAS THINKIN THE SAME SHIT,SON! GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE!

  • Nas Is A Real Good Wordsmith...........Best Lyricist Alive!!!!

  • Only a true writer can appreciate the discriptive, discription of the story, using unique linguistics....real poetry -stay true...

  • Like im a fuckin gun... How u like me now i go blooow. Aw man this and suspect witness is my favorite on the disc. Now let popcorn rappers like weezy n drake do a song like rewind. It will never happen due to the fact of the lack of verbal skills. I dnt know who let them in the game in the 1st place. Look out for nas new album its gona be sum shit

  • Man today i was in an argument where a guy said Kanye is better than Nas.

    FAIL.

  • @IRPeak Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the fuk, did u smack his face up?

  • @LeoYoungMusic Nah i just left him.Lyrical hip hop is already dead in mainstream.

  • @IRPeak true that its cause dum cunts dont understand it!!! wish it was the old day

  • evryone at my school says wayne, drake and soulja boy are the "troof" if they listened to real ass rappers like nas and biggie, fake ass niggas like wayne or soulja boy wouldnt be famous

  • *Little Rock Arkansas not Alabama lol :-X

  • "From Ohio to Little Rock to Canarsie, living harshly!!!"

Nas threw 3 different regions of the U.S. into one rhyme, Ohio (Midwest), Alabama (South), and last but not least Canarsie (which is in Brooklyn, NY).

Talk about lyrical skills... I can't imagine any of these scrubs coming close to

this level of 'Dictionary rap' as Wocka Flocka LAME put it.... What a slap-nut!

3 far off places..... one common hardship....

Haven't heard anything this deep in nearly a decade.... 2 REAL !!!!!!!

  • dame this album honeslty is slightly better than illmatic....just because this album has more songs with concept's in em.............but love nas....my fave rapper of all time...

  • this joint 2 HOTTTT...PLEASE SAVE HIP HOP PPL....its nowhere near where it should be smh

  • @MzMone87 who gives a shit what mainstream rap is like today. yeah it blows but there is still a lot of good underground rap. listen to brother ali, jurassic 5, or even lupe fiasco. they are all keepin it real.

  • @MzMone87 hip hop is saved and is better then what u think of it!!

  • @MzMone87 what does smh mean

  • @MzMone87 check out rama & kropz if you search rap savers

  • @MzMone87 its already dead..

  • 1 of my fave songs off this album. it was so ill how he came up with this concept which explains why he's 1 of the greatest rappers of all time. it saddens me that hiphop isnt like this. iunno wtf this shit they got out now learning new dances which isn't 1 of hiphop's 4 main elements.

  • I read this song inspired Tupac's "Me and my Girlfriend"

  • too bad PAC made a song about his gun before him 'sall good

  • @afa16 Negative..It Was Written came out in July. Pac didn't make Makaveli until August and was released in November

  • I been listening to this song since it came out when i was 16 in 1996. This song as alot of meaning since my friend was a first born child and a desert eagle killed him .. R.I.P

  • good shiiitttt

  • ive been listenin to this song for like 2 hours now lol

  • Andre 3000 once said "Thought provokin records radio never played them." He's spot on, the radio would rather play Wayne, Rick Ross, Drake and all them other wack artists than one of the greatest ever in Nas. It's actually sad that it has come to this.

  • @Aquemini3Stacks Look at it this way... because its not getting played Over and Over and Over again everyday we wont eventually get sick of it... it will sound good EVERYTIME we pull it out!!

  • @HenryMCorbett agreed

  • @Aquemini3Stacks yo stop doing that shit im sick of seeing these type of comments about wayne in another rappers videos, this shit is EXTREMELY annoying dawg...

  • @Aquemini3Stacks shiiit tell me about it all that shit on the radio is juz noise shiiiit it dont even have to ryhme anymore these days as long as its ignorant and catchy thats all the matters now.

  • I bin debate'nwit my homeboy on who produced this track.....

Sumbody comfirm this is Premo !

    lol

  • @Lyizzythegod tell your homeboi you've won haha cuz it is premo

  • I LOVE THIS JOINT!! BUT.... Someone probalby already put this on a comment but i didnt feel like scrolling. Do remember Pharoe Monch and Po did the same thing first with Organized Konfusion in a song called "Bring It On"

  • This is easily the most creative, unique, and metaphorical song ever from Nas and probably all of Hip Hop!

seriously who does this? only nas

  • nas is in his own league no man alive is even close to him lyrically, mentally and intellegently

  • only nas could write a song about being a freaking gun... hes insane...

  • lyrics make you think.. and could relate 2 this.. love this song.. true rap..

  • what a classic

  • NAS IS FUCKINNNG BEAAAAAAAAAAAAST

  • this song is crazy:)thumps up if you think so too..

  • @mtrue12 for real, we all know

  • @mtrue12 amen to that

  • OWN UP whos the two rock a cock a fella fags who disliked this video. Disgusting

  • this is one of the best songs on the album

  • dis guy has an awesome imagination

  • this is REAL RAP... NAS is legend... his songs are waaaaay under-rated... people need to listen to this.... not fuckin Gucci Mane or Lil Gayne

  • Why everyone act like white people always live in the suburbs? Don't forget white people were pioneers in hip hop back from day one as well. It's not about what race you are, it's about what you're from. A lot of non-black races are from bad sections, there are white people in the Bronx, Queensbridge, Compton, Detroit all that. Stop reverse racism on shit like this. Scroll back up to the video and hit replay and shut up.

  • @4CVL

But you need to remember buddy we live in a society where that is little to not even portrayed by the media at all, to a point where people REALLY DO think

that white people just live in suburbs.

You turn the TV on about people in the hood all you see is blacks or browns basically anything but whites. It's that media, dog......

Hell i'm from bklyn and I have to remind myself that whites live in the 5

    boroughs as well LOL

  • @4CVL What white pioneers? 3rd Bass??..Beastie Boyz.maybe?..Just a bunch of bloodsuckers like Rubin,Iovine, Cohen & other white record execs(slavemasters) that have gotten filthy rich off the fruits of young black artists(slaves) labor. They r the reason that real hip hop is dead! They determine what is hot or not, even though they couldnt spit a nursery rhyme. I dont get it yall hate on us but yall want to be us. Bottom line..suburbs or urban, whites need 2 stay n their place..now hit replay!

  • @youngquez81 music is for everyone, stop grouping people by race you idiot.

  • Nas has a brilliant mind!...He also has an extensive knowledge of the english dictionary...nigga could have easily been an author..english professor...whateva he wanted 2 be

  • @youngquez81 but instead he became a real street nigga.

  • @Blazindude28KB I wouldnt call Nas "Street" more of a witness of tha hood...u dont have 2 participate n order 2 see tha street life first hand when u grow up n tha shit....r u black?..if not u need 2 watch how u throw the word nigga around cause i personally dont feel suburban privilaged white kids who use it..be urself ..ur white n america what problems could u possibly have on a niggas level?

  • @youngquez81 poor baby ,another grown man crying about shit! im white as fuck in long beach cali. shot 5 times by a crip on my way home from work; BUT im white and have it wonderful, ignorant.

  • @stemirw73 Damn someone was a bad shot!...Mayb next time they will finish the job!..dont comment on convos that dont concern you...clown!

  • Comment removed

  • what is rap today when you compare it to this? Its garbage

  • @eiroight It's T.I... he is the real deal

  • @caspigitydon yeah T.I. is pretty good.

  • Second most thug song next to Ready to Die by Biggie.

  • nassssssss......this one of the greatest rap song eva

  • man when it comes to MC's being lyrically the best it goes...... AZ, NAS,Rakim, my top three and AZ put NAS on

  • @DMVaReAkID Correct me if I'm wrong but I distinctly remember Nas introducing AZ to the HipHop nation on his 1st Lp Illmatic, I think the song is called Life's A Bitch, 89,90,91, when sun's street buzz was poppin off , where was AZ again.

  • this song rely hits ya

  • Its hard to believe this album was considered too commerical in 96......not even the underground is this raw or lyrical in 2010.

  • haha . fuck lil wayne ! people just aint into this shit no more . Nas kills any rapper . his poetrey is deep , he's never fell [:

  • That third verse is mind blowing. If that isn't a top 5 verse ever written in hip-hop, I don't know what is.

  • creative classic

  • Only Nas would think to write a song from a gun's point of view.

  • @byanycost Actually, Organized Konfusion did it first with "Stray Bullet". That song's a classic, but I personally give the nod to this one.

  • this is my favourite song out of the entire album.

Listen to this for days unend.

  • This inspired Pac to do Me and My Girlfriend,

  • blowin purp to this ere

  • if i could only have one album to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be It Was Written

  • Pac, Biggie, Nas, LL, Easy-E, Dre, Snoop,....

None of them is THE best. They're at the same level to me. Just got different ways & flows to spit what's on their minds. Can't help luving them! ;o)

Cheers to y'all!! Keep it hard-core!

  • @FelixBig1 when you say LL you mean LL cool j?
