cant wait to buy the expensive tablet and os to save a dollar on a random discount here and there...
also cant wait to be looking at a digital screen instead of the rotten apples im buying,
no to mention cant wait to use a map to go to the store ive been going to for years now..
wonder if microsoft tought that store clerk to throw the paper like a pro without looking... clearly ms will make people pro and fit by 2019, with a tablet
this is 2010...not 2019..al of this is already possible and in use. there are coupon apps and ones that link to where you shop already for iPhone and Android phones.
XP in 2019 is not surprising. There are a lot of business that still runs decades-old legacy software because they don't need anything newer. If an old technology already meets what you need it to do, then why spend the money to upgrade?
The tablet in this video only needs to access the inventory database for price and stock updates, which even XP seems a bit over-kill for the purpose.
The bit where it reads your list and plots your route through the store to find your items is utter bollocks. The stores like you to meander about and make impulse buys. They hate people who know exactly what they want and where stuff is which is why they keep shifting stock about.
They shot this in the Target i used to work at hahaha that tablet was actually my job before i quit, we used tablets only to keep sales record though and verify cash register deposits to store vault.
this sucked ... manual labour is still there and plus even today ppl can easily check if the store they want to go to has the product in stock or not from the comfort of their home on internet.
@sal7va7dor It's predicted that 1st generation robots won't begin until atleast 2030. This is 2019, so we still need manual labor until possibly 2030 at the earliest.
@thebizkid84 But all the supermarkets in my home town already offer self-serve checkouts with out a human checkout operator (other then the customer)..
Couldnt we just enter our list and the computer get everything for us? It seems like its making more work for the consumer, Maybe not for the workers. Need less workers, more time to par-tay and be poor
Okay like the whole store finding thing.. there is a tasklist like that on the iphone and the manager that is caring... it looks like a ipad.. I"m not an apple fan.. just saying we have these things.. out already
@asnierkishcowboy Well, hacking it to change the prices won't be possible because the prices are stored in a locked network on a locked server, on a locked file that is read-only. NOT on the Tablet.
I love the technology but this means that store managers can make quick changes to raise the prices of the products within minutes/seconds. :( Of course on the bright side, this technology definitely makes our lives a lot easier.
Not only that, but there's no more judgment and thinking either. Computers in that video optimize EVERY single process so that the user no longer has to decide on anything.
This future is just scary and hopefully won't be real any how.
Our future will be totally different with a side of Star Trek, Battlestar galactica, A.I., I robot, and Minority Report all wrapped up in one, but without the Money or digital money, and without the War machines, and killer controlled robots.
Much more color, more vibrant, more nature, more flowers, more understanding, and more power to the people.
A World where technology can serve man and eliminate money, where man and woman can travel the stars, or other lands, and do research, or play music, create art, paint, make Holo films, and all sorts of opportunities.
This video about the Future is so horrible, we are not meant to be consumers we are meant to be Creators, Musicians, Painters, Engineers, Artists, Film makers, Teachers.
Well.. I think the GPS through the store is an awesome idea...... I am sick of tired looking through half of the store for one particular item.. especially if the store is huge..... plus asking the employers is annoying because they don't know where half of the shit is..Oh yeah.. why did the guy leave the box of tides?? LOL
This version of the future is disgusting...

You might want to use the InRetailPark website if you are a retailer.
It is extremely useful for Retail Buyers & Retail Suppliers considering they charge just $2.00 per month for listings and messages.
