PSU and PSZ are 2 different demensions so there are no beast. PSZ takes place on coral so it may be an end story to PSO. Also the beast from PSU are humanoid motavians. When Ethan first arrived on moatoob a motavian walks up to him and stares him down. I hope PSO2 adds motavians and dezorians from the earlier games.

Can someone, ANYONE at all add me on this? I actually don't mind it. It's sure as hell not as good as the other games, but it's a nice little boredom killer. I'd like some people to regularily play with online however; match making sorta sucks. And uh, it's to my understanding that Beasts were never introduced until Universe. *Shrugs*, they weren't in this or Online (III), and those were the only ones I had.

This game looks awesome. I hate that there aren't any beasts in it, but I love how they tried to mix PSO and PSU kinda with that whole charge attack=skill. Well, we'll just have to wait for it's release to see if it's WIN or FAIL.

I beat every boss in one try until I got to Mother Trinity... had to do some grinding for that battle. I guess it was a bad idea to skip all of the side-quests until then.

umbrella, ya there is online play, also you can play with people in the same room as you. You can either play free mode with random people, or enter your friends friend codes and play with them

if you keep looking back and forth on both games it will be that way. dont take my word for this but. i have echoes of time and its not hard to find the game fun at times. I mainly play for wi-fi, but for me it lags only when i visit another's game. in no way am i trying to persuade you to get phantasy star. i havent played phantasy star before but the battle system seems more accurate. If phantasy star dosent have lag in wi-fi then im going to quit echoe of time

I've got both games and I say:

FFCCEOT has MUCH better online mode!

It has PVP, and all kinds of muiltiplayer minigames. Also, you can do the whole story mode online 4 player.

PS0's online play is a bit lacking. Pretty much all you can do online is "Free Play" and not the story quests. You can trade items, and the pictochatting with friends is cool. But theres just not a whole lot to do.

So if you want great online play get CCEOT, otherwise go PS0. PS0 has better single player IMO.

I personally think Echoes of Time was a horrible waste of money. The fighting's too easy and some of the puzzles are rediculous and impossible if you don't have a friend to play with, considering there isn't a single person on wifi. PSZ is addictive and brings so much more to the table.

Echoes of Time has a 6.5 score out of 28 critics reviews at GameSpot. In other words, it's really BELOW average. Agreed! As for PSzero, i'm just starting it today.

@playinginamist This is very similar to PSO with some new things like dodge roll and Photon Arts when you charge your weapon, and no its not P2P online its free wifi like any other ds wifi game out there if you want to play online with it.

In all honesty, it probably works the same way as ever, you drop an item, they drop an item.

I'm impressed, though, that they handled loot the way they did. Seems much less competitive based, and less unfair to ranged classes who are too far away (or vice versa)

looks like Phantasy Star Online, while i loved that on Dreamcast it doesn't sound fun on DS with the friendcodes. most of the fun was playing with random people online, and the MAGs those were awesome, good to see they're back.

It's a shame, since i live in England, and to get to play online, i have to consider the time zones :(

Ah well, i'm hooked onto this, i still got Cod 6 to play yet, aswell as some other games, but they can wait.
