This was the first interpretation i heard of the black decameron, i'm so glad it was from her. And yeah, the tunning is due to that vhs problem were sound goes like that.
my nylon classical guitar goes out of tune every day as the temperature fluctuates, its only the 3 nylon strings that do it, maybe thats your problem?

haha love the waver in the video tape!! makes her sound like a total amateur( i know shes not so dont bother with the comeback comments!) ive been playing classical for 2 years now and i think ive stuffed my fretting elbow from it, 20 years of playing aggresive metal guitar and i stuff it playing classical ! whoda thunk it aye?!
She does have a indivtual style and some musianship in her playering.Plus a nice tone.Listenin to her other clips think the recordin is bad in this one!!Was wondering if anyone knows why she wearing the arm supports coz ive had problems wit golfers elbow does wearin them help?
I'm not sure if it helps with elbow troubles, but I do know that some people wear a sleeve over their arm to keep sweat and scratches off of the body of the guitar.
Decameron is a Bocaccio`s books (1351) 100 shorts tales. Brouwer named this suite Black Decameron, inspired in this book, but in african way. Thats the reason for Black. Sorry about my english.
Anyone with some agility can play this. Atention: you can´t just see how good someone is, the most important thing is the interpretation!!! And it is horrible here because she totally changed the music!!!
many many many people can "control there fingers over this" but only a fraction are famous. Its not just the fact that she can play it that makes her famous.
First let me say that I LOVE Muraji's playing. But here, her playing, though flawless technically, has room for more expressive reflection. Much of the playing sounds wooden and stilted. By FAR the most expressive performance EVER is a little-known recording by Ricardo Cobo of about 14-15 years ago. Muraji is magnificent and she deserves to go far, in a guitar world filled with phonies. Brouwer has his VERY expressive moments. Many were missed here.
THIS INTERPRETATION IS HORRIBLE. Get yourselves the real music to see the difference. She keeps going half tone behind. HORRIBLE. It looks like she only wants to show herself.
Five stars. Music to my ears and that is what counts. Bravo to the contemporary composer Leo Brower (born in Cuba) and to the guitarist, Kaori Muraji. This is the first time I have heard this composition played. So, thank you for posting this on YouTube.
Kaori Muraji make a very outstanding performance, thecnically over all. But the melody on the second part -at my opinion- are in background, lost by the doble string tremolo.
I love it "ballada della doncella en aorada", Leo Browers Decameron Negro!
I´m still trying to play it, but after 3 month I can play only the first part. But that´s so great! And if you knwo the story behind this song, it´s fantatstic.
Watch my vids, too, i performed "Un die de noviembre" and Lobos Prelude 1
Hi Kaori,
This is really good!
Thanks

Why does my guitar always go out of tune? Then again, why can't I play even half as good? I feel like giving my guitar away...

It's really too bad the sound and image quality are so bad. What a waste of a brilliant performance.

This is still really good, I like the sub-par recording sounds--they sound more aggressive

Actually she's playing exactly what's written, and very well at that. But the awful audio quality does dot do her justice.

anyone know the name of the song and the composer?, i search Decameron, but no idea what it means.
breakersu 4 years ago
The name is 'El decamerón negro' I don´t know how to translate decamerón, but is 'the black decameron'. The composer is Leo Brower (cuban)
The 3 parts of it are:
1. 'El arpa del guerrero' (the warrior's harp)
2. 'La huída de los amantes por el valle de los ecos' (Lover's run across the Echoes's vally)
3. 'La balada de la doncella enamorada' (The enamored virgin's ballad)
Hope it works for you

Armchair critics. How easy it is to criticise music and the arts.
THE TUNING deficiency is due to a poor copy being uploaded to the internet.
Her technique and intermpretation are flawless. I am sure not one of you were at the performance. I was. You are all absurd. Ciao.
