Dr. Kildare was an unabashed smoke fest. Even pregnant women smoked in the hospital of all places. From that alone you could know it was made before the 70s. But it was better than any goddamn medical show today.
How could I have forgotten that role -- one of my favorite films although a flop at he time.
Did you know those scenes were later added when the original director was fired and Sydney Pollack took charge? She was perfectly cast as Burt Lancaster's jilted mistress.
Wasn't she in the film, "Picnic" also?
I wonder if this episode of Dr. Kildare regarding psychiatry sparked her interest in the field.
WHEN WILL THIS BE ON DVD??????

Janice Rule was once married to Ben Gazzara ("Run for Your Life").
Late in life, she became a psychoanalysist in New York City.

Janice Rule; indeed a fine actress. She was very well cast as Mrs Blankerscoon in the 1971 Gumshoe.
