Wow, this brings back some great memories!!! This was my 1st Hookahville and at Buckeye Lake :) I remember eating shrooms right in front of Bob and he just looked down and smiled...Thank You so much for this :) peace and love, the poet
i had no idea bob and hookah played together that must have been an awesome show. my 2 favorite bands (well minus the rest of the dead) on stage at one time!!! damnthis video is sweet!!!!!!!
i've been going to see hookah since the days when john mullins was there the first time. many great memories. i have to say though that this was the best show i ever saw. this was friday too. one more night to go! i pesonally miss the ed years. hookah will always be one of my favorites regardless of who is with them.
I misinterpreted what was being said in your post but I have this wierd feeling you intended it that way. Computers have a way of causing problems between people that are really saying the same things and thinking on the same level so to speak..
We can only hope they don't suck up the next generations personalities who are on computers before they even start kindergarden??l First computer, was 23 ...so U could say I'm learning on the fly...lol
Bob Weir and members of Ratdog join Hookah onstage for the end of Hookah's set.
Sugar Mags, Throwin Stones, Sunshine daydream.
It was a great weekend. 15,000+ people. Good fun.
Best Hookah years IMHO (besides now) were the first years, 1991-1994. I was there. Sorry if you didn't get to check em out then, but John's back so go check em out now...
@bleearg Actually, Bobby didn't stop the band. Bobby started playing the wong song and the band had to correct him. He went into Sunshine Daydream, which they played afterwards.
just would like to apologize to dogs everywhere for using dog in that manner in that previous post. I think that I just smelled some dog SHIT or maybe it was dankhookah's post, all the same really...and ED had some really good songs too, just some blah ones, thats all...It don't matter if Ratdog comes back to Hookahville or not, HOOKAH will find that type of success or more this time around!
This was, I think, Spring Hookahville 99. Ed told me once that Bobby was hot and only had long pants with him. Ed hooked him up with the shorts he's wearing on stage. Ed used to play in a Dead cover band and Bobby's one of his true idols. Proudest moment of his professional life.
Best Hookah years were 97-99 imo. Might just be because I was young and everything was newer to me. Or maybe all the acid. Saw about an average of 1 show every week or two back in Fall 97 to Spring 98. Last 'Ville was Spring 99. Since then I've think I've seen them 5 times, last was Spring 05
Anybody remember the show at the gay bar in Dayton in October 97? that was hilarious

97-99 were the best Hookah years imo. Maybe it's just because I was just a lot younger and everything was newer to me. Or maybe it was all the acid. From Fall 97 to Spring 98 we'd go see them like once every 2 weeks.
Anybody remember the show at the gay bar in Dayton in October 1997?
you call yourself dankhookah? If you are gonna come on here and dog HOOKAH then maybe you should consider a name change...I think SWAGPOOKAH may be something you should consider...What your sayin carries no weight with people who know what good music is all about...maybe you can find something better on the radio...good luck with that...PEACE!
No matter what, that was as good at it's going to get...we will never see another 'ville like this one nor will hookah ever achieve what they did in that era of the band.
you must be a fan of the other hookah with a comment like that! Or are you one of those folks that just can't get enough of Eds love balads! HOOKAH is a better band now then it has ever been and I have been a fan since 97. I had seen about 10 or so shows between 97 and 06 and in the past 2 years I have seen about 15. That being said it looks as though as good as its going to get is getting better with age...PEACE and consider that its been done before, it can be done again.....
Great video, sound...horrible editing. DI don't think the video showed Sweney play one time. Ed and Bobby are the same person. Two cheeseballs. Hilarious. They even dress alike. Thanks for the upload. I've heard this recording but never seen the video.
Ratdog could you PLEASE come back to HOOKAHVILLE and jam with Ekoostik Hookah now that John Mullins is back?! This is a special moment in any Grateful Dead/Ekoostik Hookah fans lives and we would LOVE TO SEE MORE...PEACE, LOVE and HARMONY TO ALL!!!!!!!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Seriously, the band is at "has been" status no matter how you slice it. Over achievers in all reality.

better a has been then never was...the show still goes on every weekend strong! wish I was here, my first ville was fall 03.
