  • Jack Black?

  • i just scored an original OD1, box says 1983, anyone know anything about them?

  • How does this stand up to the ibanez tube screamer?

  • he kinda sounds like jack black

  • i found this pedal used for 15$, what is it's retail price?

  • @grannybenson MSRP is $97.50, I got mine new for around $50.

  • @d22587 sweet i got a helluva deal...sure it's used but mine still works fine.

  • What are the pro's and con's about this pedal?

How does it compare to something like the Ibanez TS or tbe Xotic BB preamp.

I want something to push the front end of my Marshall Haze amp on the overdrive channel.

I know Zakk Wylde used this pedal in the early days with Ozzy to drive the front of his JCM 800s. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • @PIlotrcm if you have a lot of distortion in your signal, this adds sustain and clarity a lot more.

  • @PIlotrcm The MXR Wylde overdrive is great!!!

  • r u jack black?

  • @stereosanctity7 i was about to ask the same thing.

  • nice crocodile skin shoes

  • Those are cool effects, you should check out this true bypass looper too, watch on You Tube ID "xj7P-ajPeZM"

  • does this guy sound like Boomhauer or what? LOL

  • i like your shoes!! yeahh

  • you sound like Jack Black

  • great bypass sound :)

  • Hey man awesome review, holy shit you sound like jack black

    your jack black for sure!!!

  • im sorry im into this pedal thing now but i dont get whats the differences between distortion and overdrive can someone explain

  • @hoooot4 overdrive pedals (Tube Screamer, etc.) employ what’s called a “soft-clipping” circuit or transistor where only a small portion of the input signal is clipped. Most distortion pedals employ a “hard-clipping” device to severely clip the input signal to get that “square wave” tone.

  • @hoooot4 hey man @1971SuperLead is spot on from a tech point of view. But basically dude, Distortion and Overdrive (and fuzz) are the same thing, 'cept Distortion is generally high Gain and saturated (think heavy metal like Metalica etc) and overdrive is a bit more dynamic and softer and mimics the tone you would get from an overdriven tube amp, just at lower volumes. So you dont have to crank your 100w marshall to the 'sweet spot' and go deaf. I prefer to crank my amp tho (40w) and use an OD :)

  • if you play metal dont buy this !

  • @EliasSevenfold do you have a solid state amp? if so then there's your answer

  • @Musicunseen95 i have a Mesa roadster, & this pedal is shit ;)

  • l have this pedal and hate it. Sorry.

  • u sound so much like jack black!!!

  • This guy sounds like Jack Black!

  • thank you for wasting ur time and money to make these pedal demo vid for us...thank you....

  • gearmanndude your tunes at the beginning and end of the videos kick ass. Great demos.

  • Bottom line is this: gearmandude puts out the best demo's along with Andy @ PGS. Before I purchase new gear, MR. Gearmandude is there to guide me thru the process of selecting the perfect sound. Pay attention to the type of riffs and tonality he use's. He show's you more than the effect itself, he shows you the character of the item! Awesome player and musician!! Thanks...

  • is this pedal good to get a nice crunchy led zepplin lead tone through a marshall MG combo and EMG's?

  • MG + EMG ≠ anything Jimi Page and never could or will.

  • if he wasn't Jack Black, he'd probably show his face in his videos. I can understand if it's Jack Black and he doesn't want people to know.

  • @metklok i dont think jack black would mind being seen..i mean he is a holly wood actor who has been on national tv several times and is known around the world...plus he isnt nearl as good at guitar as this guy...they are probably both from the same part of the country and so they sound similar. both are funny guys though :]

  • wow man you sound like jack black!! oh and your reviews are awesome, really helpful :)

  • coily cord. yo.

  • wow that sounds exactly like jack black

  • U2!!!

  • JB rocks

  • Hey school of rock!!

  • crap! he sounds exactly like jack black!! i thought that before even reading the comments below

  • whats the heaviest boss peadal?

  • metal zone, or metal core, i think metal core is the heaviest one

  • @metalicaman100 yes you are right, metal core is the heviest distorsion ever made by Boss.

  • for metal, metal core, mega distortion and metal zone.

for classic rock, you have the buss overdrive's and the big muff (not frim boss)

  • sounds just like the od-1

  • No it diesnt

There is a huge difference between an overdrive and distortion!!

  • sry...wrong post ^^
