although it is no longer in production, some stores still have it in stock and they will probably sell it in a bundle for a cheaper price

hey i got the 80 gb ps3, and i saw a 250gb model i sweeaarr , there is a 250gb model (i,m dutch) , living in overijssel , hengelo there's a gameshop there and they actually have a 250 gb model (only 2 of them right now)

DLB there not making another Sony console. Sony is playing it smart.they took off the 80gb becuz it has playback compatible for ps2 games. they want people to buy the ps2's then they will put up the 80gb so peaple can buy a ps3 and still play there ps2 games then its Hell! the reason for them dropping the 80g ps3 with motor storm was because they are going to release an 80 with duelshock controller and mgs4 in june.

Two things a new Ps3 SKU needs:

*More RAM for extra things like in-game widgets like XMB and music.

*To be made of a new, harder to scratch surface like what the controller is made of.

*To be smaller in size, even though it's the same size as the 360 it'd just be cool.

with the release of mgs4 they are coming out with a bundle with a ps3 80gb, dualshock 3, and mgs4 in a bundle for 500$ releasing in june with mgs4

in fall a 120 gb model is coming out, probably also with bundles, maybe not, but the 120 is going to be the new model, and come standard with dualshock, also then should be running for 500$

I think the only difference is what you stated. I believe the 80 has software emulation for both PS1 and PS2, while the 40 only supports emulation for the PS1, from what I've read. The card readers and HDD size are the only other differences that I know about.
