  • do you use any chorus pedal on this video? And if you do, what is it?

  • can you please tell me WHEN to play this scale?... I mean, you´re playing the G major pentatonic scale, but the song must be in what chord?

  • @darm1920 Take a wild guess;-)

  • @MarloweDK it´s that your final answer?

  • @darm1920 Or else?

No, seriously : G Major pentatonic can be used with a...surprise... a G major chord.

By the way and this goes fo all questions on general music subjects - use Google- just put in "Major pentatonic" and you will get the answer right away.

  • @MarloweDK And all other major chords...G, G6, G7, GMaj7....

  • bassmania.webs.com

  • bassmania.webs.com

  • marlowe where do you get those drum patterns?? can you send them to me ? :D

  • perfect tone... sooo nice! thanks

  • thats sooo nice.

  • can you get the backing track online?

  • @theeuprise its just a drummachine pattern

  • Cheese and rice!!!! Its a woman, you dorks. And shes doing just fine.

  • @chooch68 its a guy, watch his other vids

  • @iop223 My apologies. I should look before I leap. My teacher taught me the same basic idea.

  • If you did not learn anything watch this video again and pay attention this time.

  • if that's a lesson, then i was screwed in school bt the meaning of that word =(

  • i didn't learn anything from you brah... i'm sorry but all your doing is jammin, not teaching. :(

  • if you didn't learn from this vid, then you must be a bassplaying-genius, or you werent paying attention.. coz there is a lot to learn from this 'simple-looking' vid..

  • Guys i understand you. But i dont think he's teaching how to play the notes of the pentatonic scale, instead he's teaching how to apply the pentatonic scale in licks and grooves. I find it very helpfull. It think it will be a problem if you've not yet learnt the scale itself.

  • sht i did

  • Are you using the Pandora PX4 to get your drum beats?

  • omg are the four basses behind you all yours?

  • there is 5 basses behind him and yes they are all his. on his profile he mentions 13 basses that he owns

  • I wonder if he's named them...

  • there is a fith on the right of the screen aswell :O

  • @blackbass000 Theres 5. Right infron of his left leg thers another.

  • Reminds me of the Willie Week's solo on Donnie Hathaway's "Everything is Everything". Do you think you could do a lesson on that solo?

Would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

  • sexayy

  • hehe

  • it looks like hes playing in a music store but its his own house :O wauw i wish i had that many basses!

  • feels good

  • i like it. cool. :)

  • No doubt you are a amazing bassist, But this is hardly a bass scale lesson. The title of this video is so deceiving lol

  • patitucci?

  • u kidding?

  • lmao

  • Is This Improvised? It's Very Nice.

  • groovy :))

  • can you do a how-to video on this?

  • how do you choose which bass to play?

  • ill roll some dice... No, its just what i feel like playing that particular moment

  • lol ok. I've checked out some of your vids you rock!

  • muy buena la base de bata................

  • its funny with that many basses but no bass amp

  • nice rack full of basses back there

    cool playing also

check ot my lemon song on bass

  • hola

  • Anybody got some tab for this tune?

  • i've never understood what a doublestop is:| can somebody explain?

  • Can you tell me what you are doing at the end around 1:30, when you play chord/harmonic type things, i can't get my head around it! Thanks! love your stuff!

  • Thats a guitar doublestop using the Major pentatonic scale and playing the root in octave/hammer on to sixth to octave/fifth (the / means played as doublestop)

  • thanks! i didn't know what a doublestop was, never heard of that name.. :) now i do ^^ also i haven't seen you use 10th notes often, not your cup of tea? ex. A on the E string and C# on the G.

  • "A on the E string and C# on the G." You mean a doublestop 10'th?;-)

I use it a lot, picked it up from Chuck Rainey and Stanley Clarke

  • haha, i guess so :D so it's a doublestop. kk :) i also use it a bunch aswell, it sounds so good! i should pay more attention to the big dogs.! thanks again

  • how is this a lesson you're just jamming? lol

  • How long have you been playing for?

  • ho! their is a rickenbacker in the background :D please one day made a video of you playing this monster ^^.

    ciao

  • lots of videos with my Rick, just look;-)

  • is it really for beginners I have been playing for 2 years and I have never learned it.

  • to punkmetaller:

    pentatonic scale or doublestop?

A doublestop is just 2 notes played simult.Typically Root & 10'th (third an octave above)

  • I am talking about the Pentantonic scales. I don't I just don't think I know alot of theory. I have played for 2 years and have taken lessons for 9 months. I know some major scales with their pentatonics, one minor scale, some chords, I can kinda read notes and I know all the keys. Would you say I am a beginner in theory?

  • Yeah, but a very able beginner:-)

    metallegion501/Punkmetaller! same guy?

  • thanks again! very informative vid.helped my fills alot. make a minor pentatonic version!

  • I really appreciate that, Thanks.

  • very nice bass line that leaves all the space to fill for vocals, keyboards, guitars and whatever: a dream for guys who always complain that you're playin' too many notes ;o) - may I ask what were the PU balance & tone settings for that very nice bass tone ?

  • A bit distorted, too much hi gain on recording. But, roll back on front PU (jaco style) with added bass on pandora

  • I find these scale videos really useful. great to put scales into more of a musical context.

  • lol again you make things look so easy and it sounds awesome but another again please new video with your rickenbacker PLEASE =)

  • no, just....no. I may not have played a rick but from what i've heard (not from other people, but from what i've heard myself) I can get a better tone out of my Squier P-Bass. But, i guess its all a matter of preference...
