  • Frantz Fanon, a revolutionary and psychiatrist from Martinique, speaks of this. "In The Wretched of the Earth , Fanon discusses in depth the effects on Algerians of torture by the French forces." He also mentions the effect on those who did the torturing. They too were psychologically traumatized, and he notes, that attempts, by the French army, to find psychiatrists who could help them to continue to torture, and to be able to sleep at nights, were futile! ' ..still members....."

  • The commandante is haunted. Is that remorse? The general isn't haunted...he has no remorse. Is it possible the commandante's haunting remorse can somehow reach those he made disappear? Maybe ease the pain he caused them in some way?

  • Thanks for your recent flurry of comments!. I'm obviously...no

expert on this subject...but just following my songmaker's

intuition...in planting these two characters in this song. One thing I can say...is that the commandante...has not totally left behind his membership in the human race...the general?????...............

  • David, thank you once again for your gift of raising the coinscience of this earth through your music.

  • Wow, I was just thinking of the coup d'etat in Argentina (where I was living at the time) on March 24/76. Thanks so much, once again, dear David. Un fuerte abrazo.♫☼☺☻♥♪

  • Great one! I feel like this one should be the soundtrack for a movie!
