  • I use to be gay but then i took an arrow to the knee.

  • @dreamkasts Please listen to my videos HOMOSEXUAL TEENS and INTO HEAVEN - ANYTHING BUT BLESSED - and others.

  • It doesn't whether it passes or not. The majority of america is homophobic and it always will be. When the republicans get in control again it'll go the exact opposite direction and become worse than ever for us.

  • @controverscialthings That is a pretty pessimistic view of things, though I can certainly understand why. I think that, if it does pass, Maryland will be very cozy as far as Marriage is concerned. I also think that in a few years time, we will see the Supreme Court strike down DOMA and basically remove the blocks to equal marriage everywhere.

  • @Vethorn It isn't pessimistic it is realistic. Even if DOMA is removed the republicans will come up with something similar if not worse. It's a matter of time before this world is destroyed by the hands of humanity.

  • @controverscialthings Please listen to my videos HOMOSEXUAL TEENS and INTO HEAVEN - ANYTHING BUT BLESSED - and others.

  • Very well said most people in this country don't about the LGBT community, they think that all gays and lesbians do is sleep around when that is just hollywood bullshit put out there by the liberal media for some weird form of entertainment, because members of the LGBT community don't act like that at all, well some do not all of us.

  • The last thing most gay people want is to be married in church. Ayeeeee!

  • @nicksum29 Join a Unitarian church and you can have a Holy Union service now.

  • @DancingRabbit52 I would love that. Alas, my partner is extremely anti-religion, and simply wants the legal rights without the religious paraphernalia.

  • @nicksum29 I understand. a UU church is about as nonreligious as you can get and still be a religion. He might actually go for it but the service would still not grant you two any of the legal rights of marriage.

  • Why do we want to control everyone? Government free marriage is the only way to fix this issue. Time to change the argument. Why are we asking the government to control our lives? Why do we want the government to recognize anything? For or against should not be the argument, government free marriage NOW!

  • @sarah9miller Wow. You are the same troll that is over at gayrights.change.org! You say this exact same thing on every single blog post over there, and on every YouTube video here! Wow! A shocking commentary!

    [/end sarcasm]

The problem is that marriage is a federal/civil issue. It is legal, and therefore falls under their jurisdiction. As such, it falls to the government to recognize same-sex marriages so the rights and benefits marriage ensures are bequeathed to all legally married couples.

  • @sarah9miller The govenment registration of marriage has been around for a long time, since before independence. No one has complained that through it the government is 'controling our lives' until gays asked for the same rights as the rest of us.

  • Awesome vid!!! I think it will eventually pass.

  • You should be a politician, you've got public speaking skills.
