The source movie 'The Day After Tomorrow' is complete nonsense, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the global warming no matter what the movie claims. The events shown in the movie would take decades at least to manifest, not the week or two depicted. The movie also shows giant 'hurricanes' with ice death rays to be responsible for the transformation. This movie is so ludicrous that I sometimes wonder if its actually anti Global Warming propaganda.

The problem is that people don't realize that. The movie itself is based on a book by two 'UFOlogists' who insist that this this is what caused the last ice age, and the director upheld that claim. I used to be a teacher, and I had high school students argue with me that the scenario depicted in the movie is what is going to happen, in spite of my explanation as to how this was scientifically impossible. Even the commenter I replied to had no idea of whether or not the movie is accurate.

good comment. The special effects are creating a sense that is no different than reality when in fact certain things don't happen. It' important to realise that this is someone's fiction.
