@TheGentlemanWolf This is just a mod for a game. The game is pretty realistic and allows you to make it rain and, based on the weather, the seas can become choppy. But, as he stated, it made his game lag, so that's why he didn't have it like that.

@peanut778able No this was made in the editor by me. The Addons can all be found in the web. I put a list of the addons I used in my viedeo discription. ;)

@TheGentlemanWolf It is possible to let it rain ingame, or thunder storming. You can also set foggy weather. But all this caused the game to lag...because my old system was a little obsolete. So I decided that my D-Day should happen by nice weather conditions.....because it required far less resources ;)

the landing craft in ww2 could fit 12 solders, i didnt see much people on the beach.

@Bloodraven216 My old computer was not able to handle such a huge amount of units ingame....thats why the beach is nearly empty. My new PC could handle 200 units at the same time without a single lag. But at this time my pc was a little obsolete ;)

Oh yeah,as for ganimed1976's reason of why all M4s were sunk,it WAS POSSIBLE that the mortars and water destroyed them,as the covering DID NOT cover the top of the tank or possibly the bottom of the tank.

If you have played Medal Of Honour(The original game,not Spearhead or Breakthrough),in Operation Overlord,one of the men said "DD tanks".That's the DUPLEX DRIVE tank.It has a small covering with a explosive.Once the DD tank is on land,the explosive will blow that will bring down the covering before the tank finally goes into action.

Don't worry,the explosive's not going to destroy the tank.

@deny4862 Place an LMC on the map, after this is done place a unit near the LMC so that it is under its command. Under "Unit Insert" options are some settings...go to "Special" and skip to "In Cargo". After that is done your unit will be in the LMC ;)

@deny4862 This is only possible with tanks that can swim also in real. The tank must be able to swim in water. There are some tanks who are able to do that, but not all. What sort of tank are you using for that? I bet it is not able to swim in the water.

@TheIpodGuitar For sure some tanks are able to swim, like the amphibious version of the 1942 Sherman M4 and many other tanks like BRT-40 or BMP, M93 Fuchs or "Schwimmpanzer PT-76". They use a system called "Duplex Drive" to move forward in water. Like a jet ski they are driven by a strong jet of water and they also use their chains as paddles. Some amphibious tanks can reach 20 miles per hour in water. On D-Day all M4 sunk because they were fired upon by mortars and the sea was too strong.

But I´m not sure. I can´t look where it is exactly because I don´t have Arma 1 on my computer at this time. But it must be in the category "ships" afaik.

i downloaded this but it had the D-day map but you had to make it yourself.does it have a SP mission with already everything no it like this? or do u have to make it yourself

Right....I have made it by myself.......using the Mods and Addons in my discription. It was not hard to build this map....approximate 20 minutes of work. There are more than 500 objects on the beach but I just copied the most with things with ctrl + C and put it in to the next place with ctrl + V.

It was not that hard to build this ;)

Do you need a link to download patch 1.08?

Or do you need a file or what? If it brings you an error message "this application needs patch 1.08" try out another shortcut icon in your main arma directory. If you allready updated your game to version 1.08 you can´t use your old icon to start the game, because it always starts only the older not updated version of arma. Try to start it with the 1.08 icon in your Arma main directory.

I hope that will work ;)
