This song is incredible. I've heard the Trio version, but Chuck's bellow is more ballsy. This song has that desperate, raw vibe as opposed to Trio's more polished and slick vibe. Both are good- It's just a matter of feeling.
Also, HWM has more emphasis on the low-end. It's more booming and deep, while AK3's is more guitar driven.
the vocals on this one just add more to the song. I love alkaline trio and I love their cover of this, but you can't beat the passion the the original song writers put into this
@crassisdead I think HWM's versions of Alkaline Trio's songs have more emotion too. I love Alkaline Trio, but Skiba's voice always sounds a little whiny to me, and whiny does not convey emotions like the way Chuck sings.
The original is almost always better. Just the fact that HWM wrote leads me to give their version more respect, but I also kind of like it better musically. The guitar riffs are sick, as are the little drum fills.
I don't know. At first I liked the Alkaline Trio one more but then I listened to this a couple of time and now I like this more. It's more intense and has more energy.
Even though it's a cover, I still like the Alkaline Trio version better.
