No, but it is a cloth of some sort. Its to stop the resonance of the strings from ringing out. Antoine Dufour does the same thing with a bandanna.

I used to have to do that when I had some neck damage. I'd slide folded pieces of paper, to compensate for fret rattle. Didn't work great but it sounded better than without them. Doubt that's what he's doing. Maybe muting? But he has the capo? Dunno.

Wow Craig D has come A long LONG way... His 1st stuff was very good no dout love it. This stuff is on its own level like a Ross or Mckee. You know theirs A 10000000 guitarists out there are good but only a few that can really get the emotions and feelings to kick you in the head. You could play guitar for 1,000,000 years not play this well. I will own this album and hope to meet Craig a few more times. BTW I met him ross and mckee at the same time. all of them are Unreal people.
