Aw this is sad but also nice to know so I do like this and yet Max'x only hope is a smoke alarm yet there isn't one so therefore hopefully the fire will burn down a piece of the celing or something and whem it hits the ground it makes a loud enough bang to wake them up. That's how My Aunt's neighbor got woken up when there was a fire in his house and he almost died. He is very lucky that that bang came.

My faire alarm actually went off a few months back for no reason at 3 am i was pissed but at the time it woke me up i thought there was a fire! I woke my partner up straight away! I'm glad it woke me up incase there was a real fire x
Old lady is in the bedroom, old man is in the living room and dog is in the kitchen. None of these is on fire so it must be another room; faulty electrical wiring, maybe? Notice that all the doors are wide open, which makes the smoke spread even faster.
One thing is wrong with this PIF, for instance, your dog wouldn't be sleeping when a fire starts because he/she would detect the smoke and noise and then alert you with his/her howls and possibly jump onto your bed.
