  • Pete's a great piano player.

  • what kinda person dislikes this...douchebag

  • one of my prefers... i just can't figure myself without this music...

let me be stormy, let me be calm, than set.. me FREEEE

  • Pete down a good acoustic version of this on Jools on Saturday night

  • listen to the version by phish. just as good if not better, has a great 6 minute jam addition.

  • rock and roll at its finest!

  • another of their hymns

    I'M ONE!

  • TruthAxe..u complete dick....get back under your rock mollusc....

  • Yet another lazy composition by Pete. Even worse is his pretend solo. The Who needed a proper guitarist playing lead.

  • @TruthAxe Sure, you can do better than one of the most artistic person who has ever been born on this earth. (Of course right next to John Enitwisle.) I mean really? You are one person who doesn't have a life. Now get off this video comments and any other old band you've ruined and just go listen to your idle: Justin Bieber. I'm sure you are his partner. So good, or should I say bad day.

  • You amuse, @Shep9250. Mere words triggered you into raged action. So who doesn't have a life? HA HA HA

Oh, and the word you want is IDOL and not idle.

  • @TruthAxe That's just like..... your opinion man....

  • @TruthAxe .. The Who needed a 'proper guitarist' like the world needed another PC 'keyboardist' critic .. lets compare your body of work against the likes of Pete Townsend's .. The Who are legendary .. and Who Are You ?

  • This album is perfection from the music to the images. Of course if you don't have the 2 LP album, you don't have the portfolio of BW pictures which came with the import (to usa) album... deep within my dreams...

  • please upload is ti in my head...plz

  • FUCKIN DOGSBOLLOCKS!

  • Love the youth comments about this album and The Who in general. I'm 30, and discovered this album when I was 14 and it changed my life and outlook forever. I too, in the 90's spent most of my time in school defending this kind of music because the rest of the idiots didn't get it. The comment about today's music fans being the ADD generation is spot on. Music like this is too cerebral for the sheep today.

  • BELLBOY!!!

  • @fauxtoehead wrong song, we're at track 3, go to track 4 hahaahahahahah

  • @zombiemonster I meant in the film.

  • I had a flashback to that song "5:15" at 2:45

  • @SLee1337 Looks like we have another nit-wit drowning in his own lack of irony and humor :(

  • I'm disappointed that they got rid of the "watery" effect on Roger's vocals that they had on the original vinyl.

  • 1 person is drowning

  • Their best... All anyone can see at rock bottom is "Men high up there fishing"

  • Sigh....this entire album is a masterpiece....EVERY song relates to another/all on the work, in it's entirety......Jeez....if you can't figure that out....you don't deserve to own it...

  • that's a very perceptive comment coming from a 15 year old

  • i aint seen a sign of my hero...

  • My fave song off fave Who LP!A mystical song on becoming One with God.

" If anything ever touches My universal heart it is Love.I have crossed the limited earthly oceans to bring to you all the limitless and shoreless Divine Ocean of Love. Those who do not dare to love Me seek safety on the shores. You who have been loving Me are swimming in this Divine Ocean.Love Me more&more till you get DROWNED in Me. Dive deep&you will gain the priceless pearl of Infinite Oneness."(-Meher Baba [Pete's Guru])

  • great piano !!!

  • temazo, brutal linea de bajo

  • What's the person singing right at the end of the song when the music has stopped?

  • @jamzftw ---"come sleep on the beach, keep within my reach, I just want to die with you here.." It's Pete Townshend and these are actually lyrics from another song on Quadrophenia called Sea and Sand. Check it out !! Cheers..!!

  • @jamzftw pete

  • @ason81 ...Go fuck yourself, shithead!!

  • i wanna drown in cold water..'

  • LONG LIVE ROCK

  • i'm 45 and I have two children ages 8 and 6. I have been married for 15 years. We can't tell the difference between Flora and the bargain brand.

  • yeah kids today just don't appreciate classics like oo poo pah doo.

  • this is the best song on the album.

  • this is the best song on the album.

  • Great piano.Long Live The Who!!!!

  • well i guess we now know why john was the bassist of the millenium

listen to the end of the song

  • I am 38 and am right there with you... nothing like the 60's and 70's music.....

  • I think "The Who" sometimes lack a bit of diversity to their tracks

  • What makes you think that!?

  • @fortheloveoftunes cus its a rock opera, the whole album has the same sound to it

  • @dylans96 wat r u talkn about

  • i don't know why, but everytime i listen to this album, I feel so weird..blank and drowned!

    i love this band...

  • One of the most cookin' songs on the album!

  • long live the who

  • i am 14, and i LOVE classic rock. quadrophenia is my favorite album ever... but music isnt dying, as long as there is a person who can tell a story through song and use an instrument, music will continue to live

  • @JTBMproductions: I have a 20 yr old son who has introduced to many new bands and even dragged me to Reading (UK festival) a few times.

Even though I've enjoyed it I just think music has not just developed in the last 30-40 yrs. I compare live performances by The Who, Thin Lizzy etc. with today's bands and I can't tell the difference. No development at all.

  • another teenager, the who are amazing. all i listen to is the who, led zep, beatles, stones, aerosmith, hendirx, all of the great 60s-70s stuff. todays music is all pop, i bet people 20-30 years ago would not believe that this techo sounding music is popular.

  • young people still like good music its rare but heres some proof. i love keiths chaotic random flowing style. rogers better then plant. townshend has great writing talents. john is very original as well. im 16 this record gets me threw highschool. awesome post!

  • as much as i like my frends today, i always wish i could live back in the 60's-70's era and not face the musical "discrimination" i get today. as the toher kid who commented earlier, im 15, he's right music is dying a slow, painful death. i listen to this and hear everyone else listening to people shitting into a micropone that they shouldnt be given in the first place. bottom line; its sad that todays music is comming to surpass this...

  • The problem today is kids idea of great music are songs that they can easily remember not songs with great and meaningful lyrics and creative compositions.

That's why trash like BOM PAW PAW and pokerface is going #1because the lyrics are simple and easy to remember. You just sing BOM BOM BOM over and over again.

This is the ADD generation. A generation raised not to pay attention and just buy anything that will easily stick in their brains.

Modern music are just nursery rhymes with autones .

  • @mullinator7 the media just makes it look like there the most popular music right now. theres so much good rock music being made today its just not all over mtv and the rest of the media.over33%of music bought today is rock

  • let me be stormy and let me be calm , i love all of you who respond to your favourite band!!!

  • let the tide in...and set me freee...another example of great writing and great rock and roll....long live rock!

  • quadrophenia and the who are so under rated!!

  • They're not under rated...people are simply losing awareness of their and other classic rock bands music, because of new music. I'm 15. I'm living in the world that's losing all of it's musical talent to today's music. I see it EVERYDAY. The majority of youth today listen to music that makes them think they're something they aren't, i.e. a gangster or a punk/skater kid. Music of decent quality is dying for no reason other than pathetic people feeling peer pressured to listen to other things.

  • You are a very smart 15 year old. Keep that attitude.

  • this 15 year old couldnt put it better himself

  • this kid is so right

  • @thankyoupourlavideo that is true music making people thinking they are something they are not, my cousin acctually thinks he is black and he is as white as a ghost just because he always listens to rap

  • dude wtf no, the who are mad popular where have you been?

  • remembering distant memories

  • Comment removed

  • let me get back to the sea...quadrophenia is soooo underrated..just a tear inna babys eye

  • Johns bass is roaring like The Ox!

    <33333333333333333333333
