He says it has a powerfull engine... aint this engine a single license buildt F404 as on the F-18 hornet? however, the Gripen is not so big, so it does well without a big engine, (also good with more CO2 clean aircraft.)

I´m been on a few airshows and can confirm the loudness of the Gripen, but thats nice to hear and feal the thunder shakes trough your body:P

If you think the Gripen is loud, then you haven't heard how loud the Draken aircraft is(also from SAAB). I live in Luleå i northen Sweden, where there is an airbase, so i've heard lots of different aircrafts trough the years and been to 1-2 airshows.
