I believe that Masashi-san placed Kakashi and Gui at the battlefield with Naruto for the following reasons. What if when Kakashi activates his Mangekyou and Tobi's Mangekyou activates at the same time. Evidence points to Tobi being a diminished part of Madara. When Nagato saves the lives of the Hidden Leaf folk he's killed, Madara/Tobi says something along the lines of "he was ment to save that technique for me" (paraphrasing) later when you see Madara all undead he thinks Nagato has revived him at first. Madara having access to the Rinnegan could have summoned Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and sealed a part of himself (tobi) into the statue after his fight with the 1st and before he died.
I would also clarify that I believe that all the Zetsu's seem to have been created using the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and the tailed beast chakra. its also worth pointing out that location of the zetsu army under the statue this is where Tobi appears to have gone to regenerate his arm in issue 486 after losing it in 475 before white zetsu tells him he's gonna have to save sasuke's bacon. Tobi is a zetsu like clone which possesses part of Madara's soul or probably more likely his will.
Zetsu's cloning capabilities were revealed when he created a body double of Kisame. He copies them right down to their chakra signature and appearance. I doubt this is the case with Tobi.
Not only is that sort of twist an anti-climatic one, but the key factor in all of this is his constant usage of masks. Naturally, when you don't want someone to discover your identity, you conceal your appearance. Tobi is likely someone the alliance will recognize.

Kakashi right now is 30, Ninetalis' attack on Konoha happened 16 years ago. 30-16=14. Kakashi was 14 when that happened, which means Obita has to be 14 as well, however Tobi during this time was fighting Minato and he was an adult man.

I'm stuck on who Tobi is, his motives lead me to think that he is Kagami Uchiha but, during Tobi's fight against Danzo's henchmen we see that when he is infected by the bugs by the Shino clan henchman, he rips off his arm and you see Zetsu clay all over where the blood should be. I'm pretty sure it's not Obito either because, when Tobi fought Minato he was much older than Obito and, had longer hair. The izanagi theory seems interesting but, the Zetsu clay nullifies that. I wondered is tobi really a uchiha member cuz his sharingan has similar powers to those of kakashi. so my 2 possible theories are the obito and that the space controlling sharingan gets awekened by non uchiha when the genjustsu and other types can be only aquired if your a uchiha member.

I liked how we see Suigetsu and Jugo in this chapter. It's funny how Suigetsu thought Sasuke and Karin were hiding somewhere making out. Of course he couldn't be farther from the truth but it makes me wonder if back in the beginning of shippuden when he said he knew what happened with Karin and Sasuke if a few years ago he did find them making out lol

Limited? What? Tobi used a mere 3-tomoe and placed a genjutsu on a Kage level ninja. It's seemingly active almost 24/7. He manipulates Space/Time Migration techniques, to a greater extent than Kakashi's Kamui, which is a Mangekyo technique.
And the Rinnegan is no different. Heck, the fact that Tobi's using both dojutsu, simultaneously, is proof of his mastery over them. Pain/Nagato used only the Rinnegan and it would drain him from excessive use.

I believe that Masashi-san placed Kakashi and Gui at the battlefield with Naruto for the following reasons. What if when Kakashi activates his Mangekyou and Tobi's Mangekyou activates at the same time. I think that Masashi-san is hearing what the fans are saying, not only in Japan but in other countries, so I guess to keep the fans happy I believe that Masashi-san has picked Obito to be Tobi's identity. Wow, the izanagi theory really does make sense! What i could add on to it is the fact that Tobi uses the ghost mode/technique which kind of resembles the idea of twisting reality when Izanagi is used... however then, a sharingan eye would have to be perminantely closed which is also an argument against this theory, unless Tobi has some special technique to avoid this outcome. Also, remember when Tobi was fighting Konan... his arm was ripped off and then in the next chapter it was fully restored.

Evidence points to Tobi being a diminished part of Madara. When Nagato saves the lives of the Hidden Leaf folk he's killed, Madara/Tobi says something along the lines of "he was ment to save that technique for me" (paraphrasing) later when you see Madara all undead he thinks Nagato has revived him at first. Madara having access to the Rinnegan could have summoned Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and sealed a part of himself (tobi) into the statue after his fight with the 1st and before he died.

I would also clarify that I believe that all the Zetsu's seem to have been created using the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path and the tailed beast chakra. its also worth pointing out that location of the zetsu army under the statue this is where Tobi appears to have gone to regenerate his arm in issue 486 after losing it in 475 before white zetsu tells him he's gonna have to save sasuke's bacon. Tobi is a zetsu like clone which possesses part of Madara's soul or probably more likely his will.

Zetsu's cloning capabilities were revealed when he created a body double of Kisame. He copies them right down to their chakra signature and appearance. I doubt this is the case with Tobi.
Not only is that sort of twist an anti-climatic one, but the key factor in all of this is his constant usage of masks. Naturally, when you don't want someone to discover your identity, you conceal your appearance. Tobi is likely someone the alliance will recognize.

@Manatsujeki you have a point with regard to the hiding of his face, from a dramatic story telling point of view, but how do you explain the fact that he has displayed zetsu like white goo when Minato caused him to have his hand ripped off and when he seemingly allowed his arm to drop off to save himself in the lead up to Danzos fighting Sasuke? im sure he isnt simply a zetsu clone but his body appears to be made of the same material. there is a stronger link between him and zetsu than you think

i dont think Tobi is purely a zetsu clone but i do believe that like the zetsu clones he has a strong tie to the Demonic Statue. as I stated he seemed to return there to replace his arm. perhaps he is obito or some other character we've seen before, but, regardless, its the Demonic Statue which allows him to regenerate arms and keep living when he should probably be dead. like when he was apparently burned to death by Amaterasu he seemed to scream then die, then return. the statue is involved.

Think. If Tobi were merely a carbon copy of Madara; via Zetsu's cloning technique, then why the need to go to great lengths to conceal his face? A Zetsu clone would look precisely as Madara does.
There would be no need to wear a mask, if this were the case. The masks are, undoubtedly, a method to hide his identity. I think it's plainly obvious that SOMEONE, if not a great deal of people, will be able to confirm who he is, should his face become public knowledge.

Kakashi right now is 30, Ninetalis' attack on Konoha happened 16 years ago. 30-16=14. Kakashi was 14 when that happened, which means Obita has to be 14 as well, however Tobi during this time was fighting Minato and he was an adult man.

I'm stuck on who Tobi is, his motives lead me to think that he is Kagami Uchiha but, during Tobi's fight against Danzo's henchmen we see that when he is infected by the bugs by the Shino clan henchman, he rips off his arm and you see Zetsu clay all over where the blood should be. I'm pretty sure it's not Obito either because, when Tobi fought Minato he was much older than Obito and, had longer hair. The izanagi theory seems interesting but, the Zetsu clay nullifies that. Anybody have theories?

His idol use to be Madara and, followed his same war ideals. When Madara died, Kagami swore to avenge him.
