dude your a dush! for one.Nanook Of The North & man vs wild is something totally different .not only did nanook do it for a way of life, they also did it for survival.but man vs wild is show that is designed to show you how to survive the fastest way possible !! maybe thats why bear grylls dose not build a 5 foot buy 5 foot igloo for you !! also the film is documentary from 1922.polar bears are are going extinct and i think for them to show you grylls killing a polar bear would be against the law
I am sorry to say you have no idea about North and I am sure you have never been here, I was also thing like you but since I have come here and gone around each and every community my thought are 100% changed, now your review looks to me useless ..I am sorry but its a fact..God Bless you..
I'm sorry but I wasn't talking about the north I was talking about the movie Nanook of The North I guess you failed to realize that because you were to busy spreading the word of jesus to the eskimos or something..........
I have to concur, the video was named by you 001: #6 Nanook Of The North (1922) Part 1' rather than the review of the film nanook of the north. I did find yr review interesting however.
Is that how you look like!!! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHhahahahahahhahahahhhehehhihihihihi, its weird because of the message you sent me, and i quote "I am a stud." WTF?! The hell you are, you American pantsy!
you might be interested in this book 'Documenting The Documentary - Close reading of the documentary film and video' there is an interesting easy about Nanook.
I found your review a bit long winded. For instance it's not really important if YOU like lard and biscuits!
The lesson for this film is the fact there is no ethical documentary film making - who got the most out of the film? it's wasn't Nanook. If you don't get what I mean watch Lars Von Trier's 'The 5 Obstacles'.
sorry man gotta tell you, Nanook is staged, I saw a little bit of your review and realised that you didn´t know that. You can google it and find out more if you´re interested, maybe it doesn´t mather, but just wanted you to know that the movie gives a really false picture of how the eskimoes lived at the time, just to make it more interesting to the "white" audience. They hunted with guns and yeah he knew what a gramophone was....
you can tell that the camera was set up at the fox trap and it watches Nanook sneak across the pac ice to the the trap dig down in the snow and pull out a fox - What about the walrus scene - did they shoot the walrus instead of stuggling with it - because all of a sudden it's dead. Despite this I still felt I got a sense of what the life was like there and even if it was a little doctored. I still felt they built the igloo, fished & hunted belieably.
Hey man, I like your video. I'm studying this doc in college and this video helped me alot. Cheers!

the question is: how much of it was staged?
you can tell that the camera was set up at the fox trap and it watches Nanook sneak across the pac ice to the the trap dig down in the snow and pull out a fox - What about the walrus scene - did they shoot the walrus instead of stuggling with it - because all of a sudden it's dead.
