That's not cool to discredit Josh and just conclude that he's ripping off Frusciante. He's a talented musician. Secondly, he's friends with Frusciante, so it would only make sense that there would be similarities. How do you know that Klinghoffer hasn't in some way influence Frusciante? I'm sure he has. Lastly, imitation is a compliment. Don't hate on people for just wanting to play music.

Josh plays just like Frusciante. Look back on RHCP history, where Frusciante was basically Hilel Slovak's prodigy. When Slovak died, Frusciante filled his shoes, after a couple of failed attempts. Klinghoffer was Frusciante's backup guitarist for the Stadium Arcadium tour. It's obvious that if Frusciante thought he was good enough to cover if Frusciante wasn't able to play, that he must fit in well with the Peppers and there is nothing to worry about.

Whatever they do it's gonna be good, but i don't think the knew album will be very popular, because John has made alot of the sound they have and Flea has picked up some electronica influences from Thom Yorke. However i can tell you that RHCP does what it's into very well. The hardcore funk/punk for me was the best. I know people who think OHM was their best. Somepeople completely ignore eveything before Californication. None of it sucks, it's just what kind of music hits you.

John was a wannabe Hillel on Mother's Milk, for it also was the major's willing, and he couldn't/didn't want to smash up the band's style right away. He'd been there for a few months... Look at what he showed on BSSM, that's his very style, far away from Hillel's, in only 3 years. On the other hand, Josh has been here for a really long time and has worked with JF for years. He's still got the same style, that's his definitive style, and that's also John's, admit it. No comparison there.

Josh has pretty much been handpicked by John as his replacement. John brought Josh into the Peppers family for the Stadium Arcadium tour so in a way John was his mentor. Josh has HUGE shoes to fill but it's pretty unfair to bash the guy. Josh is friends with the band, toured with them, knows the songs so he is the best suited to replace John. Most of us have expected this for almost a year now. Sucks John has left again but if his heart is not into it you can't force him to be in the band.
