So in order for the TURE democratic idea, the many (the masses if you want to) must know what is REALLY going on. Assange is delivering the raw truth to be interpreted by the people actually carrying the system. He may be the only one in such a position who seems to think of society as being mature.

What I was getting at was that at heart the Economist identifies with the state as you seem to do...worrying about "adverse effects"... Adverse for whom? "no negative effect on future endeavours.." Whose future endeavours? This week the Economist urges the US to prosecute Assange to the full extent of the law. What seems to bother the Economist is that the information was "stolen" .
It's certainly true that the US media in particular has basically acted as a stenographer for the state, reporting exactly what the miltary tells them. Same policy as for Israel. Trouble is: the truth is secret. To tell the truth you have to publish secret information.

Now, that's obvious, but what WikiLeaks is doing and what I think you were getting at is that once the information becomes outdated, it should be released if it would have no negative effect on future endeavors. The question is... can leaks of "outdated" information have adverse effects? We shall see!

@csnu5 He said they only read 2,000 or so documents in great detail. I presume then that the documents are all run through a program to search for key words, and that one triggers the system the document is read in greater detail to ensure that any harm it may cause can be minimised.

Why did he not admit to the fact that 9/11 was an inside job, because he is not allowed to give any damming proof. It is a scam and people as always are falling for it! What about his links to the Rothschild, the most evil bastard family to ever walk the Earth.
Why didn't he mention that Al Qaeda was a CIA Database and not a Terrorist unit!
