kavus was not always a good king. in shahname all kings are not good. some after a lot of power forget god and therefore farr is taken away from them. in shahname it is rather heroes like rostam that are models of the good deeds code. and as far as hajirs lie is concerned he is a turanian; irans enemy so it is obvious that they will lie Sohrab about Rostam so that he would easily kill the biggest iranian hero for them

Ferdosi made points THAT Iranian never followed Good Thought, Good Word&Good Deed THAT lairs caused serious harms to Iran THAT dishonestly distroyed Iran. Even Rosatm is not telling the truth to Sohrab until killed him. King Kavous was not honest with Rostam too. Hajir was NOT honest with Sohrab and did not indicate Rotam to him AND as you see it clearly there is a pattern of Fraud &Dishonestly that killed Sohran who was the soul of Iran
