I read enough of the article to know that he cant fulfill the position of commander of US and NATO forces. He publicly admits that he thinks having dinner with foreign officials is "Gay". as a Obama supporter, i think MacChrystal shouldnt have been fired. he said something that may have been compiled after a year of soldiers killed, everchanging war stratagies, and shrinking war support from the americans. Obama has never served in the militay and don't kno the weight of the burdens MacChrystal has been caring.and it came out.i don't know if this is a good idea but would letting MacChrystal use his COIN(read in rolling stone mag) strategy?just a idea?

It's called checks and balances, President Obama is not our king, arbitrarily stopping oil rigs is reckless and "poor judgement". People don't want the moritorium for 2 reasons: Government is typically slow on these kinds of things (ie Yucca mountain), and we're talking about tens of thousands of jobs- in addition to those lives effected by the spill, and those that trickle down like restaurants and those serving coastal workers. And how is BP suppossed to pay if you take away income?

what the General said is...by Military Law...against the law. i've never served, but the soldiers know.

if you go into the base exchange (department/convenience store) some have signs near the entrances that reiterate 'the DON'Ts' for soldiers...i.e. no hats on in the building, no t-shirts with inflammatory remarks AND engaging in slander or criticisms of the president.

McChrystal is toast, our military cannot disrespect it's civilian commander. That behavior is dangerous and cannot be tolerated.

The ban on drilling was determined to be illegal by the judge, and it was a bad idea anyways. Over 50,000 wells drilled and one disaster? All the jobs and economy impacted? Bad move by Obama, but he appealed the decision and will likely lose that also.

Better idea, impose tougher regulations on current and future drill sites defined by industry experts.
