I'm so glad to hear you play this piece at the appropriate tempo and with FEELING! My father was a professional classical guitarist,his name is Francisco Diaz and he and I both believe a lot of guitarist play too fast and without the emotion that the guitar is supposed to have. They play at a fast tempo to showcase the technical mastery that they have achieved. The Waltz is not a fast dance! I do not think that playing blinding fast will bring tears to someone's eyes,but I have made people cry

I am so happy to find your performance of this piece. My original teacher is a fine performer - I can't afford to go to him now - but your performance takes into account everything that he tried to get me to see and feel with the music. Now I can hear how some of the accents should be stressed to get the music to come through on such a difficult piece. And you are playing in the correct positions too! Many guitarists do not. interesting that people disagree about the tempo of this piece. I think by playing it so slow you are europeanizing this waltz, which is supposed to be a latinamerican valse. You guys should check Alirio Diaz's interpretation, he should be the reference.

@DonArturo1981 Si, yo tenia una guitarra clasica que etaba empezando a tocar y consegui este video buscando en youtube algunas piezas del maestro Lauro y me gusto mucho el estilo suave y relajado de tocar de este guitarrista. This was also my first Lauro piece. I first heard it when I was 13. I didn't have the sheet music, so I learned it by ear...tough song to learn when you're just starting out on classical guitar. I really enjoyed this, and I've enjoyed your videos, you're a great player!! Scott

This is the tempo that I take this piece... and you do a wonderful job of it. I sounds more elegant and stately....playing it a breakneck speeds sounds like it is hastily rushed; and although that might cause some guitar pickers to gawk...it sounds better at a 'moderate' pace. Great job!

I need to learn this.... eh... I learned the second movement Valse Venezolano 2. Then El Negrito.... my brain was slightly fried. Its really hard music, but very idiomatic for the guitar.... Lauro did a great job of writing for the guitar.

Excellent, This song was composed by Lauro in Chile in 1945, later on he dedicated it to his daughter Natalia, who lives in mexico now. You can better your right hand's technique, anyhow you play very good

No se si sirva la anecdota, pero esta canción originalmente no se llamaba Natalia, (la historia que conosco) es que Lauro la escribe mucho antes del nacimiento de Natalia y es conocida como Waltz de Lauro, y es en los 15 años de su hija (Natalia) Cuando como un regalo para ella decide poner su nombre a esta canción! y bueh EXCELENTE man muy bonita..!

@ProtoCosmos yeah I really dont think this song sounds so great at such a fast tempo. Im glad i found this slower version. The second part of the song sounds so humble and optimistic, it should be played that way.
